District Attorney. Kurt Swinbumson. Assistant DA.. Norman Poole. Juvenile Advisory Board Representative, and E'red Robinson. Juvenile Department Director regarding salary to be paid to the Juvenile Dept Secretary Court met with Mr. and Mrs Marvin Eas terday regarding the vacation of an old road and an easement for a new road The Easement Order was signed by the Cotrt and Mr and Mrs Easterday Approved Order No 24. Maag and Sam Hartley present Bids were opened on 2 pickups and 10 cars Bid from Gentry Ford for 12 units was $35.626 36 Bid from Kessler Chevrolet for 12 mils was $36.549 26 Bid from Barrentine for 10 tints was $31.763 20 Bid from Woodpecker for 2 pickups was $6.324 26 Bid was awarded to Mathews Chevrolet, whose bid for 12 units was $34.932 00 Approved by Motion to accept the Matthews Chevrolet bid of $34.932 00. as a package deal (Ml the twelve units The bid price did not in- elude undercoating on 11 units, so the court decided to have this done ai a cost of $20 00 per unit, for a total of $220 00 Also, to have drip moldings pul on the 2 pickups, at a cost of $18 00 each, for a total of $36 00 The Court considered the legislative bill changing the collection of taxes from the Sheriff’s Office to the Treasurer's Office The Court • decided to talk to Sheriff Ingram and Pat Bond after the legislature has passed the bill The Cities of Ontario, Nyssa and Vale would like the contract with the Atherton Kennels to be implemented on July 1, 1973. so their budgets can be set up to include the cost Lindsay Soft Water representative presented the Court with a bid of $1.525 00 for a new soft wa’er unit, with trade The approximate cost of repairing the old unit would be $198 Otj, The Court decided to have the old unit repatrecF. and Lindsay Soft Waler is to order the parts ’ Judge Roy Hirai asked Barbara Morgan to get the latest salary schedule from all the nursing homes, and set up a meeting with the advisory Committee the Court. representatives from the Nursing Homes, and the Holy Rosary Hospital, to work out a wage schedule and the price of day care Approved by Motion that the Court buy the books by the United States Code Service, replacing the book* by the United State Code Annotated Service Fred from Request of Director Robinson. Juvenile Department, for raise in salary for Juvenile Secretary Court will «con sider request Court adtourned Minutes of the Malheur Couniy Court Meeting ■ April IT. 1973: Cotrt met with Judge Roy Hirai presiding, and Com missioners E W Maag and Sam Hartley present Court discussed the star ting salary for a new girl in the Clerk s Office It was decided ihat her salary should begin at $358 00. and after six months it should be increased to the next step of $376 00 Approved by Motion to emjjloy Sharon Aronson, as secretary and assistant women's counselor in the Juvenile Department at a beginning salary, starting April 1. 1973 of $376 00. with an increase as of November 1. 1973 to $395 00 and the next step to be $415 00 on July 1, 1974 Court discussed a meeting of Oregon Washington in stitute of planners, from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, that are to hold a meeting on Revenue Sharing Special Commtmity Development Sharing Approved by Motion that two representatives attend from Malheur County Either the County Judge and the Auditor or the Judge and a Commissioner Approved by Motion for Judge Roy Hirai to attend the Regional Meeting in Alaska The Eastern Oregon Parks Division is to meet the Court at 1:00 P M Thursday at the Twilight Cafe tn Nyssa, to tour Succor Creek Park The Parks Division also wants to discuss with the Court, using equipment to improve roads in the State Parks TYie state will comjjensate the County Coirt for the use of the equipment The County Court had requested permission of Curt Duvall. State Highway Department, to leave the pilings and abuuments on 1 he old Bully Creek- Greenfield Bridge site to stop erosion Mr Duvall gave permission to leave pilings and abuttments. and the Court called Mr Weatherby, whose property is involved, to inform him of the decision Approved by Motion that the Court approve the lease to the Bureau of Reclamation for grazing rights to the WtUowcreek Livestock Association Judge Hirai read the of ficial notification that Charbeanneau Inskeep Station at Danner has been entered in the National Historical Register The County has received $4.000 00 from DEQ. Solid Waste finds, that have been turned over to Pat Boid, from the state Ross Burt asked the Court to put a notice in the papers that the Bully Creek Park is now open for business The Court signed an ap plication from the BLM. asking to pul in a new cat tleguard on a county road The Court signed a quit claim deed for county land that was sold to Phillip E and Dorothy Ann Webb, at a tax sale in 1972. with the following description South U of Lot 15 and all of Lots 16 thru 20. Maag and Sam Hartley present The Bureau of Reclamation and Malheur County have a cost sharing agreement for new im provements on Agency and Bully Creek Reservoirs The Bureau will pay 50 percent when they are presented with t he records of payments 'hat have been made The Bureau has $9.000 00’ available for match money that has 10 be used before June 30. 1973 If Malheur County can only match part of this money, the Bureau would like io know how much, so lhe balance can be used in other areas W E. Gillespie is to check lhe needs for recreation and the court is to let lhe Bureau know the amount of funds that the couniy can match by May 10th The Bureau would like to have a projection of needs ahead into next year and the county to obligate them selves before June 30. 1973 Court met with Jack Collins. Special Election and Solid Waste Approved by Motion to adopt the Supplemental Budget for Family Planning and Health Approved by Motion to adopt the Supplemental Budget for Solid Waste Planning Permission was granted by Commissioners E.W Maag and Sam Hartley for Health Administrator, Mary Ellen Nelson, to store equipment for the Family Planning Service in a locked shop at her home until an office is obtained Coirt adjourned Minute* of the Malhrur County Court Meeting - April 27. 1973: Court met with Judge Roy Hirai presiding, and Com missioners E W Maag and Sam Hartley present The BLM asked the Court for permission to burn around the dumps in the county.
