Pounds Honored okk club Meeting On Golden Wedding Anniversary The okk ciub held their t Thuriday, Dacambar 21, Thu Ny»»a Goto City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon Christmas party Friday, De cember 15 with 30 persons at tending the event. The tables were beautifully decorated with a Christmas motif and dinner of turkey and ham was served to those present. .A gift ex change followed the dinner. Miss Carol Nelson Installed Honored Queen Bethel #33 DUP HOLDS PARTY The Daughters of Utah Pio- neers (DUP) met December 18 for a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. S. P. Bybee. To become a DUP member a person must be a direct de scendant of a pioneer of Utah before 1876. The 17 members present en joyed a delicious dinner and there was an exchange of gifts. Mrs. Melvin Ballantvne pre sented the program of Early Pioneer Christmases in the years 1850 to 1890. Town And Country Garden Club Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pounds of Nyssa celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Decem ber 3, 1972 at the home of their niece, Mrs. Donald Hal sey of Salem. The Rev. Lloyd Pounds of Nyssa performed the marriage ceremony, reading a poem from the original services and also giving a vivid background of Ogallala, Nebraska fifty years ago. Those present were their daughter, Mrs. Onna Kat- simanis of Casper, Wyoming; son, Joe of Helena, Montana, and son Jack of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Two daughters, Do rothy Post of Glendive, Mon tana and Edith Bernard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, were unable to attend. Son, Milton of Ca lifornia was not there and Burt who was killed three years ago, was present in our minds, all <fay- Others attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Halsey, Miss Shannon Halsey; Mr. and Mrs. Coy Whitlock; Miss Peggy Hobbs and Mr. Don Seeley, all of Salem; Jerry Erdt, Mrs. Ester Erdt, Mrs. Louise Hults. Reports from the chairman of the baxaar held December 9 termed it a success. Under di- rection of Jessie Brown and assisted by Star Points and Rose Willis, Myrtle Sasser and Ida Miner as carolers,a lovely and appropriate Christmas ob servance was held. After the meeting Sarita ar rived with gifts for everyone. Each officer received a lovely gift from Worth Matron and Worthy Patron, Mr. and Mrs. George Cartwright. Refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Theron Whee ler, Mr. and Mrs. John Strick land and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bacon from a lovely decorated Christmas table.
