SHOWING THE GRAND CHAMPION swine was Mark Goo­
dell, Nyssa The Western Bank purchased the 182 pound
hog for $1.00 per pound. The reserve champion hog was
consigned by Scott Goodell and brought $44 cwt for a
total of $98.12. Merrill Abrahams, Ontario, was the pur­
chaser and the animal was donated to the Portland Shrine
Hospital. The 26 hogs brought $2,476.14 for an average of
$44 .85 cwt up from $33.60 cwt last year.

THE GRAND CHAMPION beef consigned at the 1972 junior sale by Jeannie Pascoe, Jordan Vaiiey,
was sold to the Bank of Idaho, Caldwell for $70 cwt. The 985 lb. beef brought $689.50. The reserve
champion beef, consigned by Gary DeLong, Vale, went to the Mountain View Equipment Company,
Nyssa for $69 cwt or $623 40. The sale saw 78 steers, 91 lambs and 26 hogs sold for a total of
$41,218.67. The 1971 sale brought $36,027.67. The 78 steers brought $33, 526 for an average of
$44.01 per cwt. Last year's average was $40.49.
Ml. VIEW E«upm«nt purchased the top lamb owned by
Greg Sanders of Harper The 101 pound lamb brought
$115 cwt, netting Greg $116.15. Glenda Keesler, Vale
sold her 113 pound lamb to Tom Sugai for $90 and Dan
Gabiola, Ontario, sold his reserve champion lamb to
Oregon Trail Mobile Homes for $70,00, The 91 lambs
sold for $5,216 41 for an average of $57 24 cwt up from
$52 22 cwt. last year.
