Jehovah’s Plan Convention The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York has finalized plans for 59 district conventions of Jehovah’s Wit nesses for 1972 in the United States. Convention officials in New- York revealed that the Round- Up Stadium in Pendleton has been selected as one of the sites, July 20-23. Fred Huffman, convention manager, said 7,000 delegates are expected. Huffman said other conventions are scheduled for the Gill Coliseum in Cor vallis, July 6-9; and Civic Cen ter in Butte, Montana, July 20- 23. Charles Dodge, supervisor of the congregation in Payette with whom the Witnesses of Nyssa associate, said the four-day convention will stress the im portance of spirituality in an age of materialism. -Theworld is under great stress,” he said. “Daily the news media reports on revolution, anarchy, pollu tion, war, crime, disease and death. Jehovah’s Witnesses feel that there is a definite drift away from the Bible,” Dodge continued. “This convention will place the Bible in its pro per place. It is not simply an accurate historical record and a good collection of prose and poetry. It is a book detailing God’s standards by which men should live including worship, morals, and our dealings with others.” Dodge said the theme of the convention is “Divine Ruler ship” and the program’s com postion of lectures, sym posiums, dramas and discus sions will center on the need for Divine intervention for man to have peace and life. Dodge said 90 delegates will represent Payette at the con vention.
