The dinner was held at her home and all of her children and their spouses attended. They are daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Emil (Alta) Stunz of Nyssa; Mrs. Alice Tarleton of Boise; and sons Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bowman and Mr. and Mrs. Mer- ven Bowman of Boise. ADRIAN NEWS Mrs. George DeHaven Phone 372-2042 White flocked fir trees with red ribbons, pink poinsettas and pink candles in spiral cande- labras decorated the Nyssa Church of the Nazarene for the December 23 ceremony when Cidney Renee Hardman of Adrian and Billy Brewer of Nyssa exchanged marriage vows. The Rev. Robert Manley officiated at the 2 p.m. cere mony. Cidney Renee, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Eastman of Homedale, Idaho. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Brewer of Route 1, Nyssa. The bride, given in marriage by her step father was attired in a traditional white gown of Chantilly lace over Chinese silk. It featured a fitted bodice, full skirt and lace lily point sleeves. Her chapel length veil, edged with a wide border of Chantilly lace was held to a seed pearl headpiece. She carried a bri dal bouquet of two dozen yel low rosebuds. Cheryl Burrough was maid of honor and Lorna Hardman, Evelyn Gobler and Kathy Hard man were bridesmaids. All bridal attendants wore matching gowns featuring a red velvet bodice with skirts of pink chif fon over crepe-set satin. Their headpieces were pink netting held to red ribbon roses. Each carried a single long stemmed red rosebud. Flower girl Cidney Brewer wore a gown and headpiece fashioned identical to that of the other attendants. She car- ried a red basket of rose pidáis. Lighting the candles prior to the ceremony were Freddie Def - fer, cousin of the groom and Henry Eastman, step brother of the bride. Jimmy Brewer was best man for his brother. Ushering the guests were Jerry and Don Brewer, Jr. brothers of the groom, and Tim Tallman, cou sin of the groom. Helen Bishop provided the or gan music. Elaine Cockerel of La Grande was soloist ac companied by Dudley Kurtz. The bride’s mother chose a blue crepe dress of street length. The groom’s mother wore a street-length dress of brown wool. They wore cor sages of red rosebuds. following the ceremony a re ception was held in the church social hall. A three-tiered white wedding cake and cande- labras with red swirl candles graced the reception table. The cake was decorated with red rosebuds and topped with white satin bells. Cutting and ser ving the cake were Mmes. Jimmy Brewer and Jerry Bre wer. They were assisted by Mmes. Homer Brewer and Keith Tailman. Cheri Herod of Vale regis tered the guests. Mats Hori, Ruth Evans and Bunny McCain arranged the gifts. Mrs. Dar rell Williams and Mrs. Howard Evans were in charge of church decorations. When the couple left for a wedding trip to Boise, the bride changed to a suit of red crus hed velvet, a gift from her husband. Both the new Mr. and Mrs. Brewer are graduates of Adrian High School and are continuing their studies at Oregon State University. The newlyweds are making their first home inCor vallis. -MX----------- MX------------ X X — -—MX- BRIDGE ACTIVITIES ADRIAN - Mr. and Mrs. Fred Deffer spent last week at Moses Lake, Washington atten ding Washington State Potato Conference. They came back through Seattle where they went to the boat show then through Portland where they visited an uncle of Mrs. Deffers. Their children stayed with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Williams in Owyhee. While they were gone their daughter Kathleen had an unfortunate ac cident on the mini tramo at school and fell cutting her fore head which required several stitches. She is getting along fair but very uncomfortable. Jeanette Hutchinson of Nyssa spent the weekend with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. K. I. Peterson. Mrs. George DeHaven and Mrs. K. I. Peterson attended Adrian Garden Club at Mrs. Esther Bennetts’ in Big Bend. Program given by Mrs. De Haven on garden preparation in February. Miss Mary Looney accom panied her brother and his fa mily Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Looney of Ontario to the Mc Call Winter Carnival over the weekend. Officers were seated by Assistant Ste wards Mr. and Mrs. Don Somers. Grange Insurance Agent Wil bur Atherton reviewed the dif ferent types of insurance avai lable to Grange members. Mrs. Atherton of Boulevard Grange was a visitor. Harold Kurtz, Agriculture Chairman, told of the excellent safety record of the American farmer in the use of pesti cides. Mrs. James Stephen re ported on the bill permitting farmers to offer their land for hunting areas. The Grange was the recipient of a wall clock «presented by Frank Holub and a vote of thanks was given to him. During the Lecturer’s pro gram Marguerite Moss read an article entitled “I Am A Per son of a Different Colored Skin”. Master Metcalf described the enormous gypsum deposits and the machinery that is used in moving it which he saw on a recent trip to Florida.
