Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Loren sen attended the funeral ser vice of Mr. Arthur Thomason, Monday, at Flahiff Chapel in Caldwell. Mr. Thomason was Research Agronomist Transfers To Idaho manager of the Western Idaho Production Credit Association until the time of his death. He was a brother of Mrs. Myrtie Swetland Bowline, a former re sident here, and they lived on the ranch now owned by the Gabriel Astorecas. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Price at tended the pancake supper which was served at the Oregon Trail Hall Saturday evening. They visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bacum that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson and family of Roswell, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wilson and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. George Van- dewall were visitors Thursday evening at the Harley Wilson home. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Newgen had dinner with Mrs. Newgen’s sister, Mrs. Elsie Tietrort of Boise Thursday. The Newgen’s also visited friends, Tony Kratzberg of Parma who is in the Veteran’s Hospital at Boise, and Wayne Ellison who is now at St. Alphonsis in Boise. El lison was injured in a train truck accident several months ago. Tri-Valley Extension Club meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Larry Culbertson Fri day. The lesson topic was “Dampness and Mildew”, and was presented by Mrs. Gary Nielsen. Twelve members were present. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Niel sen of Ontario and Mr. and Mrs. Elver Nielsen visited Mrs. Effie Nielsen in Nu Acres Saturday evening. Mrs. Elver Nielsen assisted the Gray Ladies at the Blood Drawing held at the Elks Lodge in Ontario Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Newgen visited Mrs. Frone Stradley of Fruitland Wednesday evening. Mrs. Jim Yost, Mrs. Joanne Parks, and Mrs. Lila Sharp, of Emmett were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Ekanger were dinner guests Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elver Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Young were Thursday evening visitors at the Elver Nielsen home. Mrs. Bill Nielsen and child ren joined the Elver Nielsens’ for dinner Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Elver Nielsen attended the pancake supper which was served at Oregon Trail Hall Saturday evening. Mrs. Adah Schweizer was a Sunday dinner guest at the home Pago S»v»n of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Woods. Sunday evening guests included, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murphy. Mr. and Mrs. LarryCulbert- son and family were dinner guests Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alex- ander and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Fogleman and fa mily of Nampa were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Grotveitt in Nyssa. The occasion honored the birthday of Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Fogleman who are twin daughters of the Grotveitts. The Tumbling Team of the Adrian High School entertained their Father’s at an Exhibi- tion presentation In the grade school cafeteria Tuesday eve ning. Refreshments were ser ved. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Brewer. Dr. and Mrs. Rex Langley and family of Caldwell, Mrs. E.J. Hobson, Sherrill Perkins and Jimmie Langley who are stu dents of Nampa Nazarene Col lege were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Langley. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hobson of Ontario were vi sitors Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Al Baker of Ontario and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Woods were dinner guests Sun day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn McGinnis in honor of Al’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Share were Saturday afternoon visi tors at the home of JackWoods. Debbie Bowers and Mary Car roll were Tuesday night visitors at the home of Harriet and Gloria Lorensen. The Loren sen’s and their guests attended the Billy Graham Show, “His Land” which was presented at the Conservative BaptistChurch in Payette. Gloria Lorensen, Alice and Irene Hori are among the young fashionable grade schoolers this week. They are wearing the latests in "Bumps” namely, chicken pox, which is becoming quite popular these days. Dan Stallings, Research Agronomist for the Amal gamated Sugar Company for the Treasure Valley Area has been stationed at Nyssa for the past three years. He has been transferred to Twin Falls, Idaho to assume a similar position effective Feb. 1, 1972. He and his family have pur chased a home at 1818 Gra nada Drive in Twin Falls. They wish to thank the com munity for their association and friendship. Mrs. De Haven was installed as presi dent and Mrs. Peterson sewing chairman. Other officers were Edythe Prosser, secretary, Bernice Toombs, vice presi dent and Winnifred Bennett, treasurer. Mrs. Anna Long missed se- several days of school last week with the flu. She is feel ing better and back in school this week. Rev. Raymond Wilson of Ad rian Presbyterian Church had surgery in the Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario and at this time is getting along fine. Mrs. Clara Holly attended Rock Club in Nyssa Friday evening. Sue Ashcraft and Edna De Haven went to Happy Dozen Card Club at Bernice Toombs in Kingman Kolony Friday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. George DeHaven were among those who were ill with the flu last week. Mr. and Mrs. K.I. Peterson were dinner guests of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mervil Hutchinson in Nyssa Sunday. It was a birth day dinner for Peterson, other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Emery Skinner of Ontario and Marie Moore of Newell Heights. Mr. and Mrs. Perle Davis of Ridgeview called on Mr. and Mrs. K.1. Peterson Friday mor ning. Cheryl Lane of Owyhee dist rict spent Sunday night visiting with Michele Wiggins. APPLE VALLEY PTA CARNIVAL JAN. 29 The annual Apple Valley P.T.A. carnival will be held Saturday, January 29, in the Apple Valley gym. Supper will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the carnival opening at 7:00 p.m. The 5th and 6th grades are selling tickets for three door prizes - a Polaroid camera, a blender, and a digital clock radio. Tickets are 50? each or 3 for $1.00. (you need not be present to win). Other smaller door prizes will be given throughout the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Rookstool are chairmen of the carnival committee, assisted by P.T.A. president, Myrna Bale andJudy Favorel, P.T.A. treasurer.
