The Pat Sands’ traveled via plane to visit his parents in Bethesda, Maryland, returning to Nyssa for New Years. They returned to California Sunday. Eva Klinkenberg was a house guest at the home of the Wal- herts from Dec. 26 to 29. * * * Enjoying Christmas dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ward were Mrs. Audrey Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sappe and family, Carl Dodson, Earl Chard, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Sappe and Erwin Ulff of Ontario. ♦ ♦ ♦ Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dirick Nedry New Year’s Day were Mr. and Mrs. John Hartwig, Dan and Dean; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Burris; and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Van Slyke all of Caldwell. Judy Nedry and Mr. and Mrs. David Hartwig returned to Eu gene Sunday. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smiley and daughter Bonnie Kay of West Covina, California arrived the Thursday before Christmas to spend the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smiley and her mother Mr. and Mrs. Foy Sasser. Mr. and Mrs. Sasser and daughter, Karlene of Washing ton, D. C. were New Year’s Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smiley, as were Mr. and Mrs. James Smiley of Don nelly, andtheSamSmileyfamiljr. The James Smiley’s were also guests of the Bill Smiley’s over the Christmas week-end. * * * Guests New Year’s Day of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Gann were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Looney and boys and Leona Reeves who just returned from Ellensburg, Washington where she spent ten days visiting relatives. Sunday the group above en joyed dinner in observance of Mrs. Gann’s birthday anniver sary. Lett of Indian Valley called on Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shaw Monday morning. He says there is not much snow up there now, and not really very cold. Mrs. Mary Burtis of Echo, Oregon has spent the past week with her brother, Robert Shaw and family. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Evans called on Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spencer, of Sand Hollow, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Schweibert of Caldwell, and her sister, Mrs. Anna Mills and family of Green leaf Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Nielsen of Moses Lake, Wash, spent Saturday afternoon and even ing with his mother, Mrs. Effie Nielsen. They are on their way to Mexico for a three weeks vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baxter were New Year’s Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Takami at Adrian. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs Baxter drove to Caldwell where they visited Mrs. Sally May Neglay. The two women were nurses at the Caldwell Memo rial Hospital years ago. Mrs. George Dohner will be the correspondent from the Nu Acres Community starting next week. Mrs. Cecil Evans would like to thank all the people who have helped her with the news for the past three years.
