Pag* Four The Nyssa Gato City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon “Tree” Again Home At Cleavers Class of 1951 Plan Reunion The Nyssa High School Class of 1951 will hold a reunion this weekend. There will be a banquet at the Golden Slipper in Vale, Saturday July 31, starting at 6:30 p.m. A pot-luck picnic is planned for Sunday, August 1, at 12:30 noon. It will be held on the Nyssa High School lawn and all friends of the class mem bers are invited to attend. Frosts Return Home From Extended Trip Mrs. Orma Cleaver decided she could no longer tolerate a certain tree in her yard so with the help of her family, she had the tree removed on Memorial Day. Being in a fine friendly neigh borhood, the Cleavers wished to share with their neighbors, so very kindly placed the unwanted tree In their good neighbor Charlie Zinn’s yard. Mrs. Cleaver attended the graduation of her grandson in June and upon her return home, was amazed to see her tree “cemented” back in her own yard. Since “Tree” seems to be in a rather permanent place, Mrs. Cleaver and her friends held a "Ceremonial Tree Trimming” Tuesday evening by havinga gay time wiring all different kinds, shapes and colored bottles to "Tree”. “Tree” has never had it so good! Once again it is a mem ber of the Cleaver household. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Frost recently returnedfrom a week’s trip to Twin Falls where they visited Bernard’s sister, Mrs. Bessie Brown, and with Mrs. Frost’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. C.D. McDowell and family. They drove on to Salt Lake City and Provo and made a business stop in Flagstaff, Ariz. They visited Bernard’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Friel Frost in Riverside, Calif., and with Bernard's neice, Mr. and Mrs. Oran Root in Anaheim. They had the pleasure of visiting Bernard’s sister, Mrs. Hazel Brown who was a houseguest of her granddaughter, Mrs. Root. Before returning home through Bishop and Lake Tahoe they visited the home of Mrs. Frost’s neice, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ostrander and family in Laguna Beach, Calif. MERRY WIDOWS Merry Widows met at the home of Mrs. Hazel Pounds Saturday evening for their regular dinner and pinochle meeting. Co-hostesses serving the dinner with Mrs. Pounds were Mrs. Orma Cleaver, Mrs. Nina Lowe, and Mrs. Angie Cook. Next meeting will be held August 7 at the home of Mrs. Tom Johnson. REBEKAHS MEET Rebekahs, Odd Fellows and their families will meet Sunday, August 1, at 1 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Tom Johnson for a potluck picnic dinner.
