Engagement Announced JEAN HARDMAN, JIM EASTMAN EXCHANGE VOWS Eden Lopez Family Attend Graduation Visiting for the graduation of his brother, Raul, were ,Mr. and Mrs. Eden R. Lopez and children of San Jose, Calif. They were guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Lopez. The Eden Lopez family were dinner guests Saturday evening at the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Noe RJLopez, after which the two families attended the Carnival in Ontario. Upon returning to Nyssa they were joined by their parents in the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Rolando Lopez, to view home movies that Eden had brought from California. Sunday was spent by all, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noe Lopez for a barbecue, ho noring the graduate and Nick Lopez, who made his First Holy Communion that morn ing. The Eden Lopez family re turned home Monday morning. Lynne Beguhl To Tour Europe Miss Lynne Beguhl, a Junior at Boise State College, grand daughter of Mrs. Cecil Smith of Adrian and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil (Shirley) Beguhl of Boise, has been named on the Dean’s list for the spring se Mrs. Gonyer Visits mester. Mrs. Mann will be remembered as the former Gloria Gonyer. While visiting in the Mann home, Mrs. Gonyer attended a baby shower for Gloria at the home of Gloria’s friend on June 1. On June 4 they attended Gloria’s oldest daugh ter’s graduation from the TOT’s school at Dennis the Mennis Park In Downey. She was one of 15 four and five-year olds to don cap and gown and par ticipate in the ceremony. Mrs. Gonyer accompanied the Mann family to the LDS Church June 6 to attend the Mann’s infant son’s Christen- I ing. Vela Family Visits Relatives In Nyssa Hometown News Mrs. Jean Hardman and Jim Eastman of rural Adrian, ex changed marriage vows on May 29, 1971 in the presence of close friends and relatives. The 8 p.m. ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Stanley Banks at the Hardman re sidence. Renee and Lorna, daughters of the bride were attendants. Renee was also in charge of floral arrangements. Among the guests that wit- nessed the ceremony were fa- ther of the bride, Chauncey Har low of Seattle; Henry Eastman, Mark Pratt, Mrs. Eugene Pratt, Bobby Jean Kurtz, Billy Brewer; Mrs. Marie Eilers and Peggy and Kelly of Emmett. The couple honeymooned in Wallowa, Oregon, Clarkston, Washington, and Grangeville, Oregon. They are at home in rural Adrian. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin L. Spitze of Ontario, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lois Jean, to Jay L. Campbell. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Helen V. Camp bell of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Miss Spitze is currently residing in New Brunswick, New Jersey obtaining a masters degree in mathematics at Rutgers University. A resident of Atlanta, Georgia, the future bridegroom is employed with Dietary Products Division of American Hospital Supply Corp. An August wedding is planned. Master Don Somers read a letter from National Grange Master John W. Scott urging members to observe Grange Ecology Week, June 6-12. Visiting Pomona CWA Chair man Mrs. John De Boer an nounced that Pomona Grange would sponsor a booth at the Fair in August. She asked the members for suggestions for a theme for the booth. Members voted to have the annual grange picnic at the Vale park Sunday, June 27. A pro gram of games for children and MRS. L. C. OWEN, POCATELLO adults is being planned. All grange members, family and friends are urged to attend. After the close of the grange, a cake walk was conducted. Seven lucky walkers received cakes and two loaves of bread. Other visitors were Mrs. Wil bur Atherton, John DeBoer and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Amidon all of Boulevard Grange. KayC is the daugh ter of Mrs. Kay LaFay of Nyssa and Gene LaFay of New Mea dows. Prior to the installation rites, Bethel Officers marched into the room, to the altar and then formed a cross as Mrs. Joy McPartland narrated the “Twenty Third Psalm.’’ Mrs. Robert Kido sang, “The Twenty- Third Psalm.” Sharlene Kido, retiring Ho nored Queen, served as instal ling officer for the evening. She was assisted by Marilee Wilson as guide; Kathy Nel son, marshall; Sheila Esplin, chaplain. Also assisting were Trudy Olsen, recorder; Cindy Vin- cent, musician; Trudy Bay, senior custodian; Pam Bow- man, junior custodian; G.G. Smith escorted the flag and Mary Ann Dopty was in charge of guest registration. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Mrs. James Stephen. Mrs. Chelde lin led in the devotional. Plans for serving ham burgers, pie and coffee at the Mexican Fiesta June 5, were completed. Refreshments were served by the co-hostess Mrs. Eric Boenig to ten members at this last meeting before summer vacation.
