Judd of Nyssa, and Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Kinney of Ontario, will be held Sunday, January 31, from 2 to 5 p.m., in the Lions Den of the East side Cafe in Ontario. The event will be given by the couples’ daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Downer of Taft, California, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Maurice O. (Sally) Judd of Ontario; and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kinney of Ontario. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the reception. They request “no gifts’’. At a double-ring ceremony held November 30, 1970 at the Sylmar Free MethodistChurch in California, Miss Colleen Na dine Gifford became the bride of Robert Roy Moser. Rev. Earl Schamehorn offi ciated at the 7:30 p.m. cere mony in the presence of 125 guests. The bride and groom received communion during the ceremony. They repeated their vows before an altar decorated with candleabras and baskets of yellow mums, green car nations and white gladioli. The former Miss Gifford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Gifford of Nyssa. Public Invited Mrs. James Moser of Cottonwood, California. Don Elder was organist and played the traditional wedding music. He also accompanied soloist Mrs. Lawrence Mult who sang, “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “God Is WorkingOut His Plan”, and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The bride given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white satin. It featured an empire waist of lace over satin, long lace sleeves gathered into deep cuffs and a satin train. Her triple tiered veil was caught to a Camelot headpiece. Her bridal bouquet was a white or chid, surrounded by white car nations placed on a white Bible. When leaving the altar the bride presented a rose to each mother. Mrs. Ronald Moser was matron of honor. Her gown was a pastel lime-green chiffon. The neckline and bodice was ac cented with off-white antique lace. It featured long sleeves with deep cuffs and the skirt was gathered in back to form a train. Bridesmaids were Donnie Miller, Sharon Birkhead and Karen Moser, sister of the groom. Their gowns were iden tical to that of the matron of honor, except avocado green. All the attendants carried three long stemmed yellow roses. Performing the best man duties was Ronald Moser, bro ther of the groom. Ushers were Jim Moser, Jack Moser, also brothers of the groom, and Alex Sinczewski Flower girl was Sherry Gif ford, niece of the bride. She wore a yellow crepe floor length dress andcarriedawhite basket of green carnations. Ring bearer was Terry Gifford, nephew of the bride. Candle lighters were Telina Gifford and Connie Gifford, nieces of the bride. They wore yellow crepe street-length dresses. Mrs. Gifford chose a beige dress with pink accessories for her daughter’s wedding and Mrs. Moser was attired in a blue dress with silver accessories. Their corsages were yellow and green carnations. A reception was held in the church social hall immediately following the ceremony. A three-tiered wedding cake, de corated with yellow roses and topped with a floral heart and two white love birds graced the reception table. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Jack Braddock, Mrs. Ed Braddock, Mrs. Charles Kilty and Mrs. Carl Clapper. Miss Debbie Kilty was in charge of gifts and Miss Mar lene Jones registered the guests. When the couple left for their honeymoon trip, the bride changed to a white lace dress and red accessories. Their trip took them along the coast, north to Carmel. The bride is a graduate of Nyssa High School and is em ployed at Westlake Dental Of fice. Her husband was gradua ted from Thousand Oakes High School, California, is attending Moor Park College and Is employed at Dave East Arco. The couple are at home at 399 Erbes Rd. #16, Thousand Oakes, California. Included in the out of town guests besides her parents the William A. Giffords were bro thers of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Gifford and family, Ontario, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gifford and family, Boise. Hometown News Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Moore of Nampa were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Moore’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.C. McConnell. * » ♦ Delmar Keck was a Saturday dinner guest of his mother, Mrs. A. H. Keck. * • * Mr. and Mrs. Herman Towne were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dority in Boise. While in Boise, the Townes visited his brother Vincent at his home. Vincent was just recently re leased from the Boise hospital. * * * Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Sallee were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Sallee’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Sheldon in Boise. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Manning and family of Notus were Sa turday dinner guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Riggs. ♦ * * Guests for Sunday dinner at the home of Blanche Weeks, and her houseguest, SernSudd- hiphayak, were Mrs. Weeks’ sister, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Squier of Boise, Mrs. Weeks’ sister- in-law, Mrs. Hazel Farr, and Virginia Rookstool. Later in the evening visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Weeks and daughter, Linda Starback and daughters of Seneca. The Weeks family also visited at the home of Mrs. Johnnie Weeks’ father, Gus Ross in Caldwell. * * * home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Carpenter in Payette. • • * Mr. and Mrs. Jim Grunke spent Saturday evening inCald well at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Cates. They were guests at bridge. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Jim Grunke entertained Friday Evening Couples Bridge at their home with high scores being held by Mrs. Bob Wilson and Jim Grunke. "WIG FASHIONS” TOPIC AT MEET “About wigs, whether a girl wears one to keep her top warm, increase her height, make her self prettier, or just as a cover up, many today have a wig or are planning to get one,” ac cording to LuAnn Hawkins, Fruitland, who will feature her wig fashion collection for the Treasure Valley Christian Business and Professional Wo mens’ Council dinner meeting at the Boulevard Grange Hall, Cairo Junction on February 2 at 7:30 p.m. A vocal duet, Lydia Fink- beiner and Diane Duncan, Ontario, will provide special music. Flood waters of the Snake and Owyhee Rivers had reached their peak last Thurs day, when these picutres were taken and by Friday had subsided with the return of colder weather. The Owyhee reservoir filled to capacity, and water flowing through the glory hole made a spectacular sight. Some familes were forced to evacuate their homes for a short time, but most all bridges re mained intact, and no major damage was reported. In the top photo the wooden bridge to Albertson Island from the mainland is shown, with part of the flooded island in the back ground. Roads were under water and the roadbed of the bridge has just been covered with sawdust in preparation for the moving of over 1,000 head of cattle to higher ground. The lower photo shows the highway bridge from Idaho into Nyssa, with the terrific amount of water flowing under it as the Snake River reached the high water level a week ago. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Weeks of Parma, and their daughter, Evelyn, and Denzel Weeks were Saturday guests at the home of Mrs. Blanche Weeks. ♦ ♦ ♦ Mrs. Ellen Jones of Malheur Pomona Grange and Mrs. Trudy Ewing of the Vale Grange at tended Grange Lecture School held in Pendleton, January 25. * * * Gary Wilson, who is employed at the First National Bank in Klamath Falls, and Cheryl Wil son, student at EOC in La- Grande spent the week end visit ing at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Harold- sen spent two days last week visiting at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Orlee Sipes in Homedale. * ♦ » Proposed Apartments For Nyssa Mrs. Owen Gann, Mrs. Walter Looney and sons, and Mrs. Leona Reeves enjoyed dinner in Boise Saturday and spent the rest of the day shopping. ♦ ♦ » Mrs. T.H.
