And what it means was summed up by Terry Oft of the Beavers. Oft is a 6-0, 193-pound split end from Nyssa. And he spent most of his varsity career on the sidelines, cheering for Jeff Kolberg, who starts at his po sition. But Saturday, when it ended, Terry said, “Even though I didn’t play very much, every minute of football was worth the experience. I’d do the same thing all over.’’ And the Pumpkin pointed to that attidtude for making him “the happiest coach in Ameri ca.” And Oregon State President Dr. Robert MacVicar added “Which makes me the happi est president in America.” A plaque was in order. (Editor’s Note;) After wat ching Oregon beat the Air Force 46-35 two Saturdays earlier, I thought there was no way that Oregon State could beat Oregon. With all credit to Coach Dee Andros, Terry Oft, President MacVicar, the Beavers, and the three local citizens that I paid off, I would have to say that I am one of the “unhappiest foot ball fans in Nyssa.
