Wheelbase of regular Chevrolet is extended 2.5 inches for added riding comfort and increased rear leg room. The body has a new flow-through ventilation system and greater strength double-panel roof construction. The new chassis and suspen sion system give improved ride and handling. A power disc/drum brake system is standard. ROTC Week Well - trained and well educated military leaders and civilians with a knowledge of military affairs are vital to the security of our country. We have had military training in our nation’s colleges for over 150 years. Military training has been given to the Oregon campus’s for over 50 years. The ROTC program has given our Armed Forces many fine officers, both in peace time and during times of national emergency. As a salute to the many fine young men who are this week entering or rejoining the ROTC as cadets, and to those com missioned through this ROTC program, who have served this state and the nation so well, it is an honor for me, as Gover nor of the State of Oregon, to designate the week of September 20, 1970 through September 26, 1970 as ROTC WEEK in Oregon. I encourage all citizens of this state to join me in honoring these men, many of whom have given their lives to preserve and protect our de mocratic way of life. In Value The Kidney Association of Oregon has just received a plea sant surprise. Chuck Foster, Executive Di rector of the association, has learned from General Mills Corp, that in the campaign to collect BettyCrocker coupons to obtain artificial kidney ma chines, coupons will be re deemed at one-half-cent per coupon value instead of simply one-half-cent per coupon. In other words, a coupon worth 10 coupon values is worth five cents toward a machine pur chase. “This means,” says Foster, “that instead of the 424,000 coupons that have been collec ted throughout the state being worth $2,120., we estimate that the same number of coupons have a value of more than one million points or more than $5,000.” “In effect,” he declared, “Betty Crocker coupon contri- butiors throughout Oregon have already sent KAO enough cou pons to buy one $3,200 kidney machine and a good start on machine number two.” Foster explained that as soon as the required number of coupons are boxed, they will be shipped to General Mills in Minneapolis so that KAO can get the first ma chine. “But we don’t want to stop at one or two machines,” Fos ter stated, “we want to get as many machines as we can. Every artificial kidney machine that we get means life for some patient suffering from kidney failure. He expresses gratitude to Mrs. Marian Anderson, state Betty Crocker coupon drive chairman, the county chairmen and the public for their out standing support of the cam paign. ^SAMPLE 4 Modern Nylon Hide Away Bed Fabric (Reg. $299.95) DAVENO and ROCKER <2 pc .) $15995 4 Pc.
