Nyssa winners in the Payette matches were Linetta Stedman and Nancy Seward in the girls singles. Winners against John Day were Roxanne Mason, Linetta Stedman, Nancy Seward, Mary- anne Dority, Bob Ward and Lynn Hirai in singles. Doubles win ners were Nancy Seward- Linetta Stedman; Janice Sada- mori-Janice Piercy; Maryanne Dority- Janice Piercy; Ken Schilling-Greg Blanch; and Robert Ward-Lynn Hirai. Harry Brendle and Robert Ward were the only winners in the match against Ontario. For the season Nyssa has 28 wins, 42 losses. Nyssa High School Golf Team LEWIS A CLARK COLLEGE CONDUCTS MUSIC WORKSHOP Nyssa Boys Tournament Attend State The 8th Annual Oregon State Junior Bowling Tournament was held in Klamath Falls April 11-12 and 18-19. Travelling from Nyssa after having placed in team and doubles events were Kevin and Scott Engstrom, Hal and Harry Brendle, Robert Hol mes jnd Joe Nelson. Nyssa bowlers did not place in state competition, although they rolled high series and games. Kevin Engstrom rolled two 190 games for a 545 scratch series. Harry Brendle rolled scratch series of 544 and 565, KENNETH BROWN and his high games were 224 and 229. MAKES HONOR Accompanying the boys were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brendle, ROLL and they visited with the Russel Kenneth Brown, son of Mr. H. Kenneth had a 4 GPA of 3.54 for the quarter. USDA CHOICE The music department will conduct the 14th annual High School Music Workshop front. June 15 to 27 on the Lewis and Clark campus. The two-week program of class instruction in practice and performance and group re hearsals in band, choir and strings is open to singers and instrumentalists between 13 and 19 years of age. For tne first time a special class for piano students will be offered. The workshop faculty will include Paul Bellam, violin and string specialist, as stringcon ductor; Keith Eide, trumpet soloist and brass clinician, as band conductor, and Richard Muhle, a choirmaster and high school music director in the Portland area, as choir director. Recreation will include indoor and outdoor swimming, squash, tennis and special evening concerts. Through the Claudis Beyer Memorial Scholarship Fund, two full tuition scholarships for string players are available for the first time. A limited number of other scholarships are also being offered. Bowlers of the week, Leslie Larsen with a 484 scratch and Glenda Carpenter with a 605 handicap. Judo clubs from Utah, Ore gon and Idaho participated in the Judo Tournament at Twin Falls Saturday. Phillip Keveren of Vale won 1st place in the 10-year old and younger individual class. Phillip is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Bob Keveren, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kinsey Keveren, Nyssa. In the 5-man team matches, 10-year old and younger, Eric Stunz was on the 2nd place team. Eric is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Stunz, Nyssa. In the 11 and 12-year oldteam matches, Tom Okai was on the 2nd place team. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Okai, rural Nyssa.
