Like most people who have outside activities, Oden com pletely separates his work from his leisure. “There are four reasons why I fish and hunt,” he said. "First, I enjoy the outdoors. It also provides needed exer cise. It’s a family activity something we can do together. And finally, the bonus from it is in the food that it provides.” ^ Oden has been lost only once and has never capsized in a boat. His being lost was only a minor incident and several miles of walking enabled he and his wife to emerge unscathed from an area south of Bend. ‘‘There was no panic,” he said. Water Heatin Troubles? Mr. and Mrs. William Fra sier of Yakima, Wash., spent Nov. 12 with the Frost couple. They were on their way to Ari zona and Matazalan, Mexico. Packwood Sponsors Day-Care Legislation Senator Bob Packwood says he has joined in co-sponsor ship of legislation which would provide financing for new day care centers. The proposal carries a $209 million price tag and would amend the Nixon Adminis tration’s proposed Family As sistance Act of 1969. The Act provides funds only to reno vate existing structures. The proposal would authorize $45 million for the current fis cal year and be increased by 10 percent for the next three fiscal years. “I’ve long felt that we had to give priority to building and renovating day-care centers for children of low-income fami lies and welfare recipients,” Packwood said. “In many cases a new day care center provides the starting point for dignity to be restored to the individual who is allowed to work, earn money and pay taxes as the result of a new day-care center having been constructed.” EVENTS AROUND ADRIAN BY PAULINE MACKEY ADRIAN-Mr. and Mrs. W.E.
