THURSDAY. OCTOBER 9, 1969 Nyssa Schools Will LEGION NEWS Use National Menu Past presidents of the Ameri can Legion Auxiliary met Oct. 6 for their first meeting, at the Julie Hopkins home. Eight members were present and the time was spent making flowers, which will be sent to the Veterans’ hospital in Port land. Next meeting will be Nov. 3, at the Verna Tobler residence. Sadie Butcher, Nyssa School Lunch Supervisor, said that the National School Foods Service Association is suggesting a uni- veral menu for Wednesday, Oct. 15. They are asking that all schools use the menu on that date and Nyssa will go along with it. The menu is as fol lows: Hamburger, all beef, on bun, Buttered green beans Tossed green salad with Sliced Tomatoes, and Fruit Cups and Peanut But ter cookies/milk. MR. AND MRS. I. E. Connell, high; Mrs. Alma Kin- The bride, given in marriage grey, low; and Mrs. Charlie by her uncle, Jack Walters of Zinn and Mrs. Charlie Wer- Nyssa, was attired in a floor - nick, traveling. lenght gown of white Alencon lace, embroidered with rhine stones and seed pearls. It was fashioned with an empire waist and long pointed sleeves. It was secured in back in lace A tiers ending in a train. Her veil, of white illusion, was held by a head piece of peau de soie. She wore a family heirloom pearl lavaliere, and carried an old fashioned bouquet of white carnations and pink rosebuds. Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Jeanine McEwen who uUSS»*’" wore a long pink silk crepe gown with a bodice of white lace voer-lay. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink and white (SLICED FREE) gladioli. Serving as best man was Ric hard Gould of Parma. Usher was the bride’s brtoher, Richard McEwen of Nampa. SNO - BOY - The bride’s mother wore a deep pink princess style dress with matching hat, while the groom’s mother was attired in a brown lace suit. Both wore corsages of pink and white gloriosa lilies. The ceremony was followed by an intimate reception held in the Parish hall. Pouring the punch and coffee were the bride’s aunts, Mrs. PaulTrout- ner of Boise, and Mrs. Jack Walters of Nyssa. The wed ding cake was served by the groom’s sister, Mrs. Rod Frank of Parma. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with pink roses and topped with white bells set in a cluster of flowers. The guest book was presided pver by Mrs. Ammon Grigg of Boise. The new Mrs. Powers attended Nampa high school and he was a 1969 graduate of Parma high school. He is presently enrolled at Boise State college. The bride’s travel costume was pink crepe ensemble with pink accessories. The newlyweds will reside at 1703 Euclid Ave., Boise, Idaho. PTA MEETING Mr. and Mrs. Gary Condon and children were recent dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wild. Mrs. Georgia Wild and Mrs. Myrtle Shaw attended Golden Hour Missionary meeting re cently at the home of Mrs. Ken neth Saunders. Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Wild visited while the wo men attended the session. The evening of Oct. 3. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Shaw of Adrian, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wild October 5 dinner guests of the Wild couple were Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and Gary of Parma, Mrs. Ethel Wild of Nyssa, the Misses Shirley Sew- ard and Cathy Christensen of Ontario and Rodney Rhoades of Caldwell. The dinner was in h°nor of Gary Seward’s four- teenth birthday. filili NEWS Adrian PTA members will meet at 8:15 p.m., Oct. 16 in the school cafeteria. Reading Class Samples Food September 23, Mrs. Jan Wil son and her sixth-grade reading class sampled different kinds of foods from foreign countries. Spanish foods tasted were tacos, torrillias and peppers. These dishes were provided by Denna Flores, Oscar Sifuentez and Mary Lou Soliz. Italian foods were spaghetti and pizza, taken by Tammy Bybee and Bill Marcum. German food was pretzels, given by Kelly Wil liams.
