Another visitor there was Mrs. Sells’ aunt, Mrs. Annie Weiners of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas of Lewistown, Mont., were re xent weekend guests in the Ed Sells home. On the evening of Sept. 13, Mr. and Mrs. Sells held open house for all mem bers of families so that they •could visit with the Montana couple. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Norland of Riverside, Calif., were Sept. ‘18 dinner guests of Mrs. Martha Norland. • Mrs. Nellie Eason was a Sept. 20 dinner guest of Mrs. Emma Moran. Afternoon visit ors were Mr. and Mrs. John Chamberlain and sons of Nyssa. Mrs. Dwight Seward visited Sept. 18 in the Keith Langley home. Sept. 21 dinner guests of the Dwight Sewards were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Pierce and child ren of Boise; Mr. and Mrs. Chet Shaw of Adrian. After noon visitors were Marie Coates, Gertrude Allmon and Mike Lancaster. Terry Sells was at home over the weekend of Sept. 13. He is employed in Burley, Idaho. Mmes. Nell Correll and Frances Smalley visited on the afternoon of Sept. 21 with Mrs. Luella Breneman at Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fritts, the Clarence and Robert Tun ings spent a recent weekend camping and chukar hunting at Steck park. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Honey and Mrs. Bertha Rapp visited on the evening of Sept. 20 with Mr. and Mrs. Sam King. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sodowsky returned Sept. 17 from a vac ation trip. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Don Keesee in Kla math Falls and with other friends at Reno. Mr. arid Mrs. Forrest Smal ley left Sept. 20 for their home in Campbell, Calif., after a weeklong visit with Mr. and Marcums Return Mr. and Mrs. Murle Marcum left Aug. 31 and spent the Labor Day weekend with their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Marcum and family and Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Baronti in Eu gene, Ore. September 2 they went to Salem where they visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olney Marcum. The Marcums left Sept. 3 for Renton, Wash, where they attended the Northwest Tackle show. They returned Sept. 10 to Salem to spend another night with his parents. The Marcum couple returned Sept. 11 to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Olney Marcum and their daughter, Mrs. Win Springer of Highland, Ore. ar rived Sept. 13 to visit'the Mar cums. September 14 they attended the 80th birthday anniversary of Mrs. Marcum’s sister, at Melba. The group went fishing at Lake Owyhee Sept. 15, and re port they had a good catch. JAMES REILLY Mr. And Mrs. Parley Feik UOCMMKMMKI ARCADIA Report On Recent Trip Mr. and Mrs. Parley Feik recently took a tour of the Can adian Rockies and Northwest. They went with the James Travel Tour that left Salt Lake City by way of Idaho Falls. First stop was at Quake Lake, which was made by the 1959 earthquake out of Yellowstone and into Montanna. From there they toured the LewisandClark Caverns. This was outstanding with its natural formations re presenting many objects and individual forms. Inside the cave are over 500 steps, carved by boys of the Civilian Con centration Corps. Next stop was Missoula Mountains and Glacier National park. There were many in teresting places such as Card- ston, Calgary, Bauff National park, Moraine and Lake Louise. One morning they rode on the Gondola lift to the top of the mountain for breakfast. The following day they went 21 with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Dewater in Fruitland. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Seuell left Sept. 19 totake their daugh ter, Lois, to Oregon State uni versity at Corvallis, where she enrolled as a sophomore. to the Ice Fields for a snow mobile ride on the glacier. That night was spent at Emer ald Lake. Then on to Vancouver for two nights where they saw the pic turesque Queen Elizabeth Gar dens, the zoo in Stanley park and Capilario Suspension bri dge. From Vancouver they went to Victoria by way of ferry which was a one half hour boat ride across the strait. The day was spent shopping and during the evening they toured the Butchart Gardens. The gar dens were started in an aban doned lime quarry by Mr. and Mrs. Butchart. It covers 25ac res of outstanding flowers, shrubs, and a fountain. The gardens could be viewed at night as well as day, as it was lighted by many different lights. Next day started with a three- hour ferry ride to Seattle, Wash. During the ride they saw the San Juan Islands. In Seattle they ate lunch at the space needle; then on to Portland and Boise. Corfield, USN, is serving aboard the at tack aircraft carrier USS Tic onderoga which recently re turned to San Diego after seven months in the Western Pacific. He is a son of Mrs. Bonnie Winn of Nyssa; and the husband of the former Dolores E. Mac- Pherson of Ontario. The Ticonderoga spent most of its tour on Yankee Station just off the coast of Vietnam. It served there as a unit of the US Seventh Fleet’s carrier strik ing force. During four line periods on Yankee Station, the Ticonderoga launched air strikes in sup port of allied forces fighting in Vietnam. At the end of the tour, the aircraft carrier became the first to complete five combat deployments to Vietnam.
