Members of Malheur World
War I Barracks recently held
a picnic in the Nyssa South
park with 58 area residents
from Adrian, Ontario, Vale, and
Nyssa attending.
It is also reported that the
treasurer will have the mem­
bership cards ready for the
September meeting.

were honored by their children
at an open house Aug. 9 at
the Presbyterian church in Ad­
rian.
The occasion was in
honor of their 50th wedding
anniversary.
They were greeted by 200
friends and relatives and 27
grandchildren.
The grand­
daughters servedpunchandcof-
fee and attended the guest book,
while their grandsons attended
the money tree.
Mrs. Minnei Siebenberg of
Notus had attended the wedding
of Mrs. Kurtz’s parents 73
years ago, the wedding of Mr.
and Mrs. Kurtz 50 years ago
and was present at their Golden
anniversary. She also served
the cake.
Others included Mrs. Kurtz’s
sister, Mrs. Anna Durnil; her
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Eunice
McLaughlin; Mrs. Verla Mc­
Laughlin, two of Mr. Kurtz’s
cousins, Mrs. Ethel Handley
and Mrs. Melinda Kurts.
Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz were
married in the Presbyterian
church in Ten Davis on August
10, 1919 by Dr. W. L. Boone,
then president of the College of
Idaho.
They lived in the Ten Davis

she was attending a Girl Scout

women will also be in charge
of the flower division registra­
tion.
Next meeting will be Sept.
9 at the home of Mrs. Orland
Cheldelin. Mrs. Edward
Boydell of Boise will give a book
review at this meeting.
