They report the fish were a nice size, however, it was quite windy and they did not get their limits. The trio returned home the following day. Mrs. Jim Hite had as a guest on June 13, Mrs. Rollo Fenn. The dinner honored Mrs. Fenn’s birthday anniversary. Rollo Fenn and Archie Fields of Par ma went to Donnelly that day to visit the latter’s son, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Fields. They returned home the following Monday. Mrs. Rollo Fenn was a June 14 luncheon guest of Mrs. Carl Fenn. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Zamora and children of Ontario were June 15 dinner _ guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Zamora. Mrs. Dick Kriegh accompan ied her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Palmer of Parma on a recent weekend trip to Buhl where they visited Mrs. Kriegh’s mother, Mrs. John A. Stewart, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pratt received word from their son, Mike, who was recently home on leave from Japan. He is now in the Philippines. He writes that the weather is very hot and humid and it will be threo months before he can move into air conditioned barracks. Mrs. J. L. Judd of Newell Heights and Mrs. Dale Ashcraft of Kingman Kolonv were among six patrons from Malheur coun ty who left June 9 to attend the state garden club convention in McMinnville. They returned home on the evening of June 12. Eugene Pratt received word this month of the graduation of his eldest daughter, Audrey Gil- ger of Parowan, Utah. She was graduated from Cedar City col lege. Her son, John was gradu ated from high school this year and has received an appointment to West Point Military academy. Mrs. Calvin Briggs and girls, her sister, Jill Domy and their father, Bert Domy, all of Boise visited June 10 with Mrs. Dale Witt. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reed o' Independence, Ore., visited June 13 with Mrs. Reed’s cou sin, Mrs. Witt. They had been visiting relatives in Axtell, Kans., and Grand Junction, Colo., and were enroute home. Mrs. Grace Day was a June 15 dinner guest of Mrs. Witt. June 15 dinner guests in the Herb Wenke home were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lawson and Val erie of Sparks, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawson of Ontario. They went horseback riding, and homemade ice cream was served. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Borge, Mrs. Ernest Eilers and Peggy Sue of New Plymouth spent a recent weekend in Sacra mento, Calif., where they at- 1,890 tended a Borge family reunion. Jim will attend Eastern Oregon college in La Grande this summer, while Kay and the boys will spend some time with her parents. Mrs. R. D. McKinley went to La Grande June 9 to visit her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Earnest and family. On July 11 they went to Albany where they visited Mrs. Mc Kinley’s son, Mr. and Mrs. James McKinley, returning to La Grande on Friday. Mrs. McKinley returned June 15 to her home in Newell Heights. Mary Timmerman is attend ing 4-H summer school inCor vallis. June 15 afternoon visitors in the Don Nelson home were Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wenke and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Law- son and Valerie, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. John Ross and Robin of Vale visited on the afternoon of June 12 with the Louis Pratts. Mmes. Carl and Rollo Fenn, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Simpson were June 15 dinner guests of the Alfred Simpsons. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Derrick of Williams Lake, Canada ar rived June 14 and spent the weekend in the L. C. McDer mott home. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Province of Caldwell were June 15 afternoon visitors. Morning callers were Mr. and Mrs. Bud McDermott of Marsing. Sheila Pratt returned recent ly from the state track meet in Portland, a representative of Malheur county. She earned a fourth-place medal, and was the only local girl receiving one. While there she visited June 9,16 a sister, Mr. and Mrs. John (Judy) Kirby. Judy recently completed her third year at the University of Portland and earned a perfect 4 grade point average for the year. Sheila accompanied Mrs. Jeanne Hardman and daughters to Port land, visiting at Port Angeles and other places of interest along the way. They were gone a week. Mrs. Leon Chamberlain is a patient in Holy Rosary hospital at Ontario where she under went recent surgery. She is reported to be recuperating nicely. Mrs. Lydia Worden is in St. Luke’s hospital at Boise where she is undergoing treatment. She is allowedno visitors except relatives. She hopes to be re leased the latter part of this week. A daughter, Verna Cost- ley of Seattle, arrived on the morning of June 13. Another daughter, Bertha Tallman of Kennewick, Wash., arrived the following day.
