He married Armine Derounian on June 24, 1944, in Cairo, Egypt. The couple came to the United States in 1946. They lived in Harrisburg for a time, and moved to Parma in 1947. He was proprietor of the Hartman Locker and Cold Storage near Nyssa Junction until 1966. He worked at Yellowstone Park in the summer of 1966, and had been working in Scottsdale, Ariz., for a time. He was Demo cratic precinct committeeman of the West Black Canyon Pre cinct for a time, and also worked for the Amalgamated Sugar Co. at Nyssa. He drove a logging ■r truck in the summer. He was a member of and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. In addition to Mrs. Hartman, he is survived by a son, James Hartman, Route 2, Parma. A Caravan Pow-wow, an award and demonstration time, will be held at the Nazarene church on Sunday, June 8 at 6:45 p.m. This will be the closing activity for the year in the Caravan program. Caravan is a scout-like program spon sored by the C h u r c h of the Nazarene for boys and girls through Junior High School age. These groups have met on Wed nesday evenings through the year under the direction of Bill Fitzsimmons, chief guide, and the other Caravan workers. On May 24, about thirty of the older children and their leaders attended the annual Caravan Fair held on the cam pus of Northwest NazareneCol lege. Among the awards given at the fair was Caravan’s high est and final achievement award, received by Gary Seward. A carry-in supper for the Caravan workers was hosted recently by Rev. and Mrs. Robert Manley. Those attend ing were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fitzsimmons, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Saunders, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tarter, Mr. and Mrs. John Sheppard, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wild were not able to attend. A time of farewell fellow ship will be held at the church Sunday evening after the Cara van Pow-wow in honor of two families who are moving, the Floyd Rhoades' and the John Sheppards. Refreshments will be served at that time. Vacation Bible school will begin this year on Friday, June 13. The second session will be held during the Sunday School hour on Sunday, then the sche dule will continue through June 20, with the VBS program to be given on June 22. The school is open to children from age 4 through junior high school and will run from 9:00 o’clock until 1:30 each day except Sunday. Each child should take a sack lunch; the drink will be pro vided. Barbara Fitzsimmons is superintendent of the school again this year. Word has been received of the birth of a girl to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beachell, recent Mis sionary visitors at the church. The family will be leaving soon for work at Bogota, Columbia. The Beachells have two other children. Mrs. Beachell is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartz, managers of the Boise rescue mission. Her husband is a nephew of the Robert Kriners. The Rev.
