Idaho Power Company re ported recently that the num ber of new and converted elec tric-heat homes in the Snake River valley has reached the 5,000 mark, calling it a “sign ificant milestone in the area’s steady progress toward an ever-higher standard of elec tric living.” D. S. Bailey, vice-president for division operations, an nounced the milestone in a re port also showing that more than half of all the new homes completed in southern Idaho and eastern Oregon during the first nine months of 1968 were electrically heated. Bailey said the new mark was reached with a home converted to electric heat by Dr. L. H. Mason, Boise. The utility executive pre sented Mason and his wife with an award designating their res idence (at 4020 Hillcrest Drive) as the 5,000th electric-heat home on Idaho Power’s lines.
