Price of route 2, Parma were conducted Tuesday after- noon, Dec. 17, 1968 at the Dakan chapel in Parma. Offic iating were the Revs. Wayne Wardwell and Stanley T. Banks. Mr. Price succumbed Friday in a Caldwell hospital. He was born June 12, 1874 in Sauk County, Wise., and mov ed to western Nebraska as a young man and homesteaded with his father. At age 21, the deceased moved to Longmont, Colo., where be married Inez Osborn on Oct. 6, 1901. They moved to the Parma area in 1911, having resided there since. The couple observ ed their 67th wedding anniver sary on Oct. 6 last year. Mr. Price was a member of Kirkpatrick Memorial Com munity church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Clarence ot Portland; a daughter, Mrs. David (Donna) Bay of route 2, Parma; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Baskins of Paradise, Calif., and Mrs. Eva Herbert of Den ver. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. One son preceded Mr. Price in death. Interment was made in the cemetery at Parma. Services for Ruth Lydia John son, a Parma resident for the past 22 years, were conducted Tuesday morning, Dec. 17,1968 at Lienkaemper chapel in Nyssa. Interment was made in the Roswell cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born June 25, 1881 in Dunkirk, Ohio, and succumbed Sunday at the hos pital in Ontario. In addition to her husband, Charles J. Johnson of Parma; she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ada Schweizer of Nyssa and Mrs. Lois Bullock of Vale; two brothers, Laurence Russell of Ft. Worth, Texas and Harry W. Russell of Toledo, Ore. EMIL TROPF Funeral rites for Emil Tropf will be conducted at 2 o’clock this afternoon, Dec. 19, 1968 at Bertelson-Lienkaemper chapel in Ontario. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Faught of the Malheur Butte Baptist church. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery at On tario. Mr. Tropf, 31, died Sunday in the Malheur Memorial nurs ing home where he had been a resident for the past six years. He was born Feb. 4, 1887 in Cleveland, Ohio and went from Madrid, Nebr., in 1936 to the Ontario area where he farmed until his retirement. In 1910-1914, he served with JOHN S. Linegar of route 2 Nyssa, is among 67 men at Lin field college who have pledged fraternities during fall sem ester rush week, according to a news release from the college at McMinnville. The Nyssa student pledged Alpha Tau Omega. Linfield has five fraternities. Three of them are chapters of National Greek letter social organizations. The services began Wednesday evening and will continue to be held at 8 p. m., through Sunday, Dec. 22 (except Saturday). The Rev. and Mrs. Orchard have been traveling as evangelists since Sept. 6 this year. He is a 1966 graduate of North Central Bible college in Minneapolis, Minn., and upon graduation assumed the position of Minister of Youth and Music in Bettendorf, Iowa. In June the couple accepted the post of Youth and Music Ministers in Worthington, Minn. They remained there until September, 1968. The Rev. Orchard attended North Central on a speech scholarship. He and the former Carole Rasmussen were married on Jan. 22, 1966. She has taken extensive vocal training, has taught voice and is an outstanding artist. Her husband accompanies her on the piano and organ, and also solos on both in struments. Army, according to a report by a rel ative of Leavitt’s. He is ser ving in Korea with the 25th ar tillery, in charge of ammuni tions. Leavitt entered the ser vice in September of 1967.
