Charm Classes Slated At TVCC A An evening class in personal development (charm)for house wives, mothers, and the working women will start Thursday - Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in W-3 of the Weese building at Treasure Valley Community college. This class will provide up- to-date information oncos- metics, colors, fashions, exer cises and more. BIRTHDAY PARTY MR. AND MRS. WALTER G. MENDENHALL Miss Toni Lee Fife became the bride of Walter Galen Men denhall during an eveningcere mony performed July 19, 1968 at the Nyssa LDS stake house. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fife of Nyssa; and her husband is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Menden hall of Willamina, Ore. Bishop GlenW. Peterson per formed the double-ring cere mony in the presence of family members and close friends. Basket arrangements of white gladioli and daisies decorated the church, with organ music provided by Miss Patty Urry. Given in marriage by her father, the bride were a floor length gown of her own design and creation. It was fashioned of white organza, over peau de sole, and featured imported, re-embroidered Alecon lace, hand-appliqued at the bodice and hemline. Her floor-length veil of French illusion fell from a uara of tulle petals and she carried a cascading bouquet of white rosebuds, stephanotisand ivy, with white and pale-green ribbon streamers. Miss Louise Nicol of Dallas attended as maid of honor, while bridesmaids were the Misses DiAnne and Connie Fife, sisters of the bride. They wore identical floor length gowns of lime serrano, designed with tucked bodices and trimmed with daisy ap pliques at the hemlines. They carried crescent bouquets of daisies and greenery. Miss Brenda Fife, the bride’s niece, was flower girl. Her floor-length frock was similar in design to those of the other attendants, and she carried a lace-trimmed basket of daisies and greenery. Ringbearer was Brian Green, nephew of the bride. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Fife wore a two-piece dress of turquoise lace-knit, accented with a white rosebud corsage. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a tur quoise knit sheath and also wore a corsage of white rosebuds. Carl Mendenhall, served as Seed Growers . . Among guests were Alan and Brent Lovitt, Pat Stam, Triena Thiel, Mike and Michelle Dines of Marsing. Evening guests for birthday cake were Melanie’s grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dines of Marsing; her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stam, Jonny and Susan. best man for his brother, with another brother, Phillip Men denhall as usher. Miss Connie Rea of Salem, was in charge of the guestbook. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the cul tural hall. Master of ceremon ies for the program was Glen Green, brother-in-law of the bride. Miss Joy Green presented two piano selections, an original reading was given by Mrs. Iona Flinders, with a vocal selection by the Misses Colleen Staples, Peggy Moore and Wendy Bair. The trio was accompanied by Miss Susan Leavitt. A three-tier cake, trimmed with tiny yellow daisies and topped with white doves, graced the refreshment table. Mrs. Carol Green,Mrs. Min- Nette Fife and Miss Sherry Bair were in charge of serv- ing guests at small tables, covered with white cloths and centered with miniature nose gays of yellow ribbon. The wo- men were assisted by Joy, Rhonda and Melanie Green, La- Dawn and Shanna Bair. Mrs. Karen Fife, Mrs. Su zanne Fife and Mrs. Kris Ward cared for the gifts, and were assisted by Terry and Paul Fife, Eric Green and Blaine Woodard. The new Mrs. Mendenhall is a 1966 graduate of Nyssa high school and for two years has studied at Oregon State univ ersity in Corvallis. Her hus band was graduated from Wil lamina high school in 1964 and is a 1968 OSU graduate. The newlyweds are present ly residing in Corvallis where both are employed by the OSU Farm Crops department. ACTIVITIES TOLD NEWS FROM BIG BEND BY LEGION WOMEN BY GOLDIE ROBERTS BIG BEND - On the morning of Sept. 14, 11 neighbors and friends stacked the third-cut ting of hay for Jesse Higgins who has been ill. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Higgins of Nampa helped with the chores until Friday, and Steve Hall assisted Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Chaney and Rosalie spent the afternoon and evening of Sept. 15 with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Welsh in Cald well. l^rs. Jesse Smith of Bridges, Mont., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Smith and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dyre Roberts, Darlene and Carlene Carroll visited Sept. 10 with Mrs. Flor ence Henderlider in Nampa. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Mann of Caldwell were Sept. 14 even ing visitors in the Chet Smith home. Sp/5 and Mrs. Lawrence Clu- cas and Joel of Vista, Calif., arrived on the morning of Sept. 14 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Clucas. This was a farewell dinner for Lois who is leaving for Oregon State university in Corvallis, and for Tim, who will be studying at Eastern Oregon college in La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. John Pack wood visited on the afternoon of Sept. 5 with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Musgrove in Marsing. Mrs. James Hollingsworth and Brenda of Boise were Sept. 12 luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Higgins. Mrs. Verl Bishop attended a Sept. 11 meeting of the Home Extension county advis ory committee at the home of Sally Meeuwsen in Ontario. Mrs. Jim Sheehan and Mar garet Ann are visiting this week with her grandmother, Mrs. Edythe Prosser. Mrs. Emil Beguhl of Boise visited Sept. 12 with her mother, Mrs. Cecil Smith. That after noon they visited with Mrs. Charlotte McGinnis at Malheur Memorial hospital in Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Clucas entertained Sept. 15 for all of their elder children, except Cleave.
