Bybee drove to Boise June 28 to meet their grandson and granddaugh ter, Douglas and Shawn, child ren of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bybee of Brigham City, Utah. The Ray Bybees and Kim arrived July 2. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Froerer and family, Kim, Doug and Shawn and Mrs. S. P. Bybee attended the July 3 races and rodeo at Vale. The Ray Bybees were evening bridge guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moore. The S. P. and Ray Bybees made the round-trip on July 4 to Mc Call, while the Owen Froerer family took Doug and Kim Bybee to Owyhee lake. Shawn spent the fourth with a cousin Tamara Bybee at Ontario. In the evening the families met at Ontario to view the fireworks display on the Treasure ValleyCommunlty college campus. On July 6, the Ray Bybee family, Owen Froer er family and Mrs. S. P. Bybee drove to Owyhee dam. The Ray Bybees and their children re turned July 7 to their home in Utah. * ♦ a Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Schire- man were June 13 guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hanlin and family at Medford. Their son, Dick Schireman of Gardena, Calif., flew to Medford June 15 and on June 22 accompanied his parents to Nyssa. He is asso ciated with North American Aircraft. After a week’s vaca tion here, he left by plane for his home in California. ♦ ♦ ♦ Mr. and Mrs. Ted Brammer had as July 2 evening visitors, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Emmett and Jimmie of Springdale, Ark. Other visitors were Nyssans Bob McKinney and son, Tim. They are all former residents of the Berryville-Green Forest area in Northwest Arkansas, wright, Mrs. George Cart wright, Mrs. Don Burkhardt, Mrs. Mike Sillonis, Mrs. Robert Sheets; and the Misses Brenda Fawthrop and Lucille White. Among out of area guests were the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Parker of Boise; her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wood and family of Boise; her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Cartwright and family of Portland; friends of the couple, Mrs. Robert Jen nings, Ruth Jennings and Miss Brenda Fawthrop, all of Pend leton, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Mc Clellan of Boise. The new Mrs. Johnson is a 1962 graduate of Nyssa high school and in 1965 was grad uated from Treasure Valley School of Practical Nursing. She is a licensed practical nurse and has worked in Nyssa and Pendleton, Ore. Her hus band was graduated from On tario high school in 1961 and in 1966 was graduated from the Weber State college of air plane mechanics at Ogden, Utah. Following a wedding trip into Idaho, Montana and Glacier national park in Canada, the newlyweds are at home in Ogden, Utah. The bride is working at Dee Memorial hospital there; and the bridegroom is a photo graphic mechanic at Hill Air Force base in the Utah city. We9 re Softies for Curls ... Among the brothers and sist ers present were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Montague, Kathy and Marian and a friend of Moses Lake, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swanson and Louise of Boise; Mr. and Mrs. Ike Mitch ell of Nyssa; Mr. and Mrs. Austin Montague, Gail and Yvonne of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Montague, Linda, Debbie and Sherri of Weiser; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Montague, Jimmie, Teresa and Eddy of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Suckow, Rita Ann, Natalie, David and Becky of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Montague of Nampa. Other guests included Mrs. Bale’s nephews, Dennis Carlson of Nampa and Ivan Carlson of Baker; a niece, Mr. and Mrs. Arlan Benjamin and Aaron of Caldwell; an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Novak of Ontario; friends Diane Jennings and Lina Flake of Nyssa. Others present were Mrs. Cleaver’s mother, Mrs. Orma Cleaver and Miss Karen Cannon. Donald and Kirk Cleaver, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Cleaver; and Alan Cleaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Cleaver, left July 7withagroup of FFA boys to do some fishing along the North Fork of the Malheur river. They planned to return home July 9. ♦ ♦ ♦ Mr. and Mrs. David Beers were June 29-30 guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wheeler at John Day. They are new owners of Travellers’ Motel. The Wheelers, longtime friends of the Beers, traded their Caldwell home and farm for the motel. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Jenkins were July 4 guests of the Beers’. Townley during an evening wed ding ceremony performed Fri day, June 28, 1968 at Ontario Church of the Nazarene. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hobson, Sr. of route 1, Ontario; Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Townley of Mc Pherson, Kans. In the presence of 200 guests, the double-ring rites were per formed by Former Nyssan The Rev. John Bullock of the Naz arene church in Newberg, Ore., and the Rev. Robert Manley of Nyssa Church of the Nazarene. Whitq gladioli and tall candel abra provided the altar set- ting, Vocalist was Hal Poe, with violin music provided by Mrs. Sid Greif, while organ- ist was Mrs. Bullock. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was dressed in a gown of white silk organza, over peau de faille. Her bouf fant veil of illusion was se cured to a tiara of peau de soie petals and roses, graced with seed pearls. Attending as matron of honor was Mrs. Russell Keithly of Stockton, Calif., while brides maids were Mrs. Stewart Burns of Boise and Mrs. Doug Bolles of Kansas City, Mo. They wore identical gowns of white karate, fashioned on skimmer lines, with diamond cut necklines and short sleeves. Their frockswere highlighted with hemline fly panels, trimmed with satin but tons and their bodices were trimmed in dark green. Miss Cecelia Tatro, aitired in white silk organza, attended as flower girl, while candle lighters were the Misses Janet Kimball and Mary Brewer. Joe Hobson, Jr. served as best man for his sister, with Keith Langley and Russell Keithly as ushers. Todd Lang ley was ringbearer. For her daughter’swed- ding, Mrs. Hobson wore a pale green lace dress. The bride- groom’s mother was dressed in white lace, and each wore a corsage of white orchids. A reception followed the wed ding ceremony, with Mrs. Bill Fitzsimmons in charge. She was assisted by Mmes. Homer Brewer, Jim Langley, Clyde Kimball, E. J. Hobson, Charles Tatro, Jack Hubbard, Rollo Kent, Ray Tarter, Floyd Rhoades, Bob Martin and Del bert Vail; the Misses Diane Wilson, Mary Lou Hoffman and Linda Paine. Among out-of-area guests were Messrs, and Mmes.Clyde Kimball of Oakland, Calif., Russell Keithly of Stockton, Calif., Stewart Burns of Boise, Charles Tatro of Boise, Jack, Hubbard of Riggins, Idaho and ' ~ Randall Stahapulos of Rich land, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Del bert Vail and Miss Mary Lou Hoffman of Nampa. The new Mrs. Townley was graduated from Bethany Naz arene college at Bethany, Okla., and her husband served with the U. S. Marine Corps and is now completing his studies at Bethany college in Bethany, where the bride is em- ployed at the John Glenn el ementary school. After a wedding trip to Yel lowstone park and Colorado Springs, the newlyweds are at home at 7410 N. W. 22nd, Apt. 8 in Bethany. Garden Club Women Slate McCall Tour Members of the Owyhee Garden club will leave from the M and W parking lot at 8 A.M. Friday, July 12 for McCall where they will tour the David son iris gardens and those at some of the summer homrfs. The women are planning to have their luncheon at McCall's Shore Lodge. Rebekah News ________ ____ Members of the Rebekah friendship circle will meet at g p.m. Friday, July 12 at the Nyssa IOOF hall. SENIOR CITIZEN ACTIVITIES Senior Citizens will meet at 10:30 A.M. today, July 11 on the lawn at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John E. Long. Those attending should take a sack lunch. It is also announced that some of the members need rides to and from the meetings, and it will be appreciated if those having vehicles will fur nish transportation to those who do not. - LoisCounsil, reporter.
