The group left early Monday morning, June 10 and drove to the Leslie Gulch area for their outing. An open house reception, honoring James and Cecile (Smith) Ogg, will be held from 2 to 7 p. m. Saturday, June 29 on the lawn at the home of Denzil and Henry Mitchell on Klamath avenue, route 2, Nyssa. The couple was married today, June 27 in Spokane. The bride is a daughter of Emily Smith Mitchell and the late Leonard Smith. In addition to the honored guest, those attending included h.s wife of Ontario; Messrs, ar.d Mmes. Wilbur Chapin, Ed Nedrow, Dean Blaylock, Jake Borge, Kans Salamon and daughters, Harold Markley, G. D. Mackey and Gene; Mr. and Mrs. Sizemore. Friends and relatives of the family are cordially invited to attend. parish hall, with women of the Altar society in charge. The new Mrs. Kirby was graduated from Adrian high school and attended Treasure Valley Community college for one year before going on to the University of Portland where she has finished her sopho more year, with plans to com plete her education there. The bridegroom is a gradu ate of Ontario high school and TVCC. He has been employed at the Kinney and Keele Hard ware store for the past several years. After a wedding trip along the Oregon coast, the newlyweds will reside in Portland where the bridegroom plans to attend Portland State college this fall and will be working at the Home town Hardware company in the Rose City. AREA NURSES MEET Regular meeting of the Ore gon Nurses association, Dis trict #20 was held June 18 in the clinic building of Dr. Davis at New Plymouth. In the back row are Tom Group Honors Anniversaries Of Two Couples Members of Oregon Trail Grange met June 20, for a pot luck supper. The event was in honor of the 41st wedding anni versary of Mr. and Mrs. Orland Cheldelin and the 10th anniver sary of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Boenig. The tables were decorated with roses and sweet peas and a .beautiful centerpiece, ar- ranged by Mrs. Frank Holub. A cake, decorated and enscribed with the names of the honorees, was served after the meal. A regular session of grange followed. Pomona Master Ira Price presided in the absence of Master Don Somers who was attending the State Grange meeting in Gresham. Lecturer Lois Boenig called for the names of those having birthdays in June. Mrs. Orland Cheldelin and Duane Drydale were fined the usual one cent per year. Figueroas Honored Mr. and Mrs. Jose (Carmen) Figueroa were honored June 23, 1968 with a reception held at the Nyssa labor camp in ob servance of their 30th wedding anniversary. Hosts for the event were the honorees’ two sons, Fidencio and Higinio Figueroa. The Figueroas were married June 22, 1938 at Kaufman, Texas. During the SENIOR CITIZEN ACTIVITIES Senior Citizens of the area met June 13 at Nyssa Public library. Mrs. Edna Blaylock who is in charge of care of the elderly, along with other Social Security work, told of home care for those needing some nursing advantages. Her talk was followed by a question and answer period. Next meeting of the group will be at 10:30 a. m., Thurs day, June 27 on the lawn at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John E. Long at 7 Long Drive in Nyssa. Those having birthdates in April, May and June will be honored with a birthday cake. This will be a potluck affair, and those wishing to grill ham burgers or wieners are asked to notify Dr. Long and he will have the grills in workingorder.
