W. Roberson of Parma. The open house event was held at the Parma Christian church. Teresa Topliff and Cynthia Chapin accompanied the Jim Phifers to Portland late last week when they attended the Adrian-Crow baseball game on Memorial Day. Mrs. Irvin Topliff, Marcia and Greg went to Caldwell May 30 to attend a picnic dinner at the Dave Patterson home. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Eason and son of Homedale were June 2 dinner guests in the Gene Simpson home. David and Jimmie Fenn were also dinner guests and Karen Simpson was an afternoon visitor. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Webb and Melanie were Memorial Day guests in the Bill Webb home. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett Horne and Elaine of Memphis, Tenn., arrived June 1 to visit her sis ter, Mrs. Marie Moore. Emory Baird of Portland and Earl Ward were May 30 eve ning visitors in the Rollo Fenn home. Baird is a longtime friend of Rollo and was a resident of Nyssa a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kurtz and Gladys Morfitt of Nyssa were May 22 guests at the Dud ley Kurtz home for cake and ice cream. It was Lance’s seventh birthday anniversary. He was also honored with a May 25 party, with seven guests attending. Highlights were games, cake and ice cream and Lance received many nice gifts. Those coming from a distance to attend May 29 funeral ser vices for Wilson Witt included his sister, Mrs. F. S. Deem of Lawerence Kans.; another sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. William Hub bell of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; his brother, Dr. and Mrs. N. F. Witt, professor of chemistry at Boulder university, Boulder, Colo. Others arriving for the rites were a cousin, Mrs. T. J. McDonnald of Tucson Ariz.; Mrs. Witt’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Milo G. On June 1 the Chard couple and his brother, Earl and Mrs. Hazel Farr attended the commence ment program at Boise high school where a grandson, Steve was among graduates. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Chard of Boise. He will leave June 26 for Annapolis, Md., where he will be a student at the United States Nava) academy. Happy Dozen card group met May 31 at the home of Sue Ashcraft in Adrian. Guest players were Edythe Prosser, Rose Willis, Edna DeHaven and Mary Jarvis. Nazarene College at Nampa that she has been chosen recipient of an activity scholarship for the 1968-69 school year. DiAnne has been a very con sistent student during her twelve years in the Nyssa school system. In addition to grad uating in the upper quartile of her class, with a GPA above a 3.0, she has also been very active in extra-curricular acti vities, both in and out of school. She has been very involved in the NHS band program and has also participated in pep club, worked on the Tupelo staff and has assisted with rou tine work in the guidance office. Miss Wilson has also been very active in church activities, having held the offices of sec retary and vice-president of the DiAnne Wilson Nazarene youth organization.
