THE NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL, NYSSA, OREGON THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 1968 ADRIAN TUMBLERS TO APPEAR AT GAA SPORT NIGHT EVENT APPLE VALLEY NEWS By Frances Smalley APPLE VALLEY - Mrs. Dwight Seward took her son, (■ary; Ellen and Joyce Piercy to a 4-H achievement and tal ent program field March 2 in the Caldwell armory. The event was sponsored by Dairymen, who furnished lunch for the group. Ellen Piercy won two awards in agriculture and beef. Gary Seward presented a musical selection on the talent program. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston, Mrs. Robert Shippy and child ren visited March 3 with her mother, Lucy Rogers who was staying in the D. W. Sarazin home at Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wild and Mrs. Ethel Wild took a sur prise birthday dinner with them on tin* evening of Feb. 29 and helped Mrs. Dwight Seward celebrate her anniversary in the Seward home. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and Gary were March 1 evening NYSSA PTA MEETING Members of the Nyssa PTA will hold their regular meeting March 7 at 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria, announced Mrs. Glade Chadwick, publicity chairman. There will be elec tion of officers and the busi ness meeting will be short so as to enable th)* parents to visit their child's room and become a little acquainted with their particular activities. Parents attending will be counted in their child’s room. Mrs. Earl Boston, Mrs. John Boston and children attended a March 2 dance recital at the Ontario high school auditorium. Mrs. Boston's niece, Gerianne Rogers of Nampa was in the recital. Danny Shippy of Payette spent a recent weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Saun ders and sons were March 3 evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Price. They were helping Mrs. Price celebrate her Feb. 29 birthday anniversary. Mrs. Lucille Reed and Elsie Robinson were March 3 after noon visitors in theJimCorrell home. Mrs. Eugene Gustavson of Nampa was a March 3 dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dibble. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Miller have moved from Boise to the Nu Acres area. He is assistant manager of the MAW store in Nyssa. ^Clü8 NEWS BUENA VISTA CLUB Nyssa high school officials have been notified that she, a NHS senior, has been awarded a grant to pursue tier education at Southern Oregon college in Ashland. Marsha is planning to major in mathematics. In addition to being a consistent student through high school, Marsha lias also been actively involved in a numtier of high school activities, including FHA, pep club, science club, German club, and drill team. She has also been a member of the high school Chorus. Activities outside of school in clude membership in 4-H club and the Methodist Youth Fel lowship. Marsha received a special honor by being selected "Girl of the Month” for Novem ber of this school year.
