Gerald Warren, a son, left the following day by jet plane for Elgin, Ill. Another daughter, Mrs. Donna Jean King andDon- ella of Denver, Colo., also left Feb. 15 by plane. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Habur- chak left Feb. 9 to attend a hardware meeting of Coast to Coast store owners, held in the Hilton hotel at Portland. Before the five day sessions began they drove to Sheridan for a short visit with Victor Jr., they re turned home Feb. 15. * • • Mr. and Mrs. David Beers, Mrs. Verna Tobler and Mrs. Zora Osburn were Sunday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Foster. ♦ • * Nyssa Churches Sponsor Ecumenical Lenten Series The Catholic, Christian, Episcopal, Lutheran and Metho dist parishes of Nyssa will con tinue a series of Lenten films which began on the high school level last year. A series of films has been selected for this year’s dis cussions. A general film, ‘‘Re ligious Revolution and the Void" will begin the series, followed in the next three weeks by a three-part film study of Christianity. The final week’s film is yet to be determined. The films will be shown to high school students at 7:30 on Wednesday evenings and at the same hour on Thursday evenings to adult members of the parishes beginning the week of Ash Wednesday, Feb. 28. Each session will be held in the social hall of St. Bridget’s Church at Fifth street and Lo cust Avenue. Young people from the four churches in Parma, Homedale. Adrian and Roswell will meet at the Parma church at 6:30 Sunday evening, Feb. 25, instead of at Adrian Community church, as was announced. FISCHER DIES IN PORTLAND The Journal was notified Monday of the death of Mrs, Mary E Fischer, 86, mother of Nyssan Jacob Fischer. She succumbed Sunday Feb. 18, 1968 in Portland. In addition to her Nyssa son, she is survived by three other children, Mrs. Paul Baldwin of Hillsboro, Ore., Miss Pauline Fischer of Portland and Lawrence Fischer of Quincy, Wash. Other survivor s include a granddaughter, Mrs. Lorraine Godfrey and three great-grand children, all of Boise.
