Saturday morning Mrs. Jones visited by telephone with Mrs. Hannah Schomberg who re ported that she plans to return to Nys-.a m xt wt-ek. Charlie Glenn visited Oct. 7 and 8 with Mr. and Mrs. Loise Boren at Durkee. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Lovelace of Wilder visited on the even ing of Oct. 6 in the Charlie Glenn home. Mrs. Lester Smith, former Sunset Valley resident, recently spent several days in the hos pital after falling and breaking tier heel. She is at home now and reported to be feeling bet ter, according to her sister, Mrs. Ken Lorensen who re ceived a phone call from her. Mrs. Smith’s address is Box 25 Johnstown, Nebr. DARLENE BALE A sophomore, majoring in sec retarial science, worked last summer under provisions of a work study program at Treasure VaUeyCommunity college. She was also recipient of a scholarship given by Futura chapter of National Secretaries association, International. Frozen Foods Lean-Tender Officials of Northwest Nazarene college in Nampa, report that Marilyn AnneClark- son, daughter of the Carl A. Clarksons of 711 Thompson ave., Nyssa, has been accord ed membership in Zeta Kappa Rho, undergraduate honor society at NNC. Membership in the society is accorded when a student main tains a grade-point average of 3.40, or above, for three con secutive terms. Miss Clarkson is a junior at NNC, one of seven liberal arts colleges sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene. WE AIN'T SCARED Oct. 8 dinner guests in the Harold Alexander home were Mr. and Mrs. John Price and family. North Third Street — Nyssa, Oregon The Department of Motor Vehicles has re-established a temporary agency in Jordan Valley to provide residents with better drivers’ license renewal and automobile registration service. In charge of the new agency is Mrs. Mabel Del Grosso, whose position became effective October 10. She is also employed by the Public Utilities commis sion. Mrs. R. G. Larson Sr., and her sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Wray of Salinas, Calif., visited Oct. 3 with cousins, Mr. and Mrs. John Flynn at Caldwell. The trio was Friday dinner guests of Mrs. Larson’s son, the Ray Larson family. Bailantyne spent a recent week end at Shore Lodge, McCall. Oct. 7 and 8 visitors in the Montgomery home were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fowers of Hooper, Utah. Mrs. Ken Lorensen visited recently with Virginia Loren- sen in Holy Rosary hospital where she underwent surgery. Brian, Loreen, Marcia, Mona »nd Mila spent the week-end with their grandparents, the Ken Lorensens. They returned home Oct. 8 with Mrs. Ken Lorensen and Mrs. Harriet Turner who were evening din- ner guests of the Virginia Lorensen family. Oct. 7 evening visitors in the Ira Price home were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Price and fam ily. Sunday callers were Mrs. Don Share, Shagay and Susan.
