Behind the running of Tim Tallman and Pud Franks; and outstanding defensive play by Bill Skogan, the Adrian youths were able to score 18 points in the first half, and hold off a second-half rally by the Mid dleton lads. This was the Antelopes third victory in four games. Middleton scored twice in the third quarter on runs of 29 and 56 yards. Except for these two plays, both teams display ed excellent defense work dur ing the second half. Adrian, in Middleton territory almost the entire second half, was stopped twice by a spirited Middleton defense squad. Other -Antelopes, whom the Adrian coaches feel played good ball, defensively, are Julian Flores, George Gonzales and Earl Stoker. The Antelopes’ next contest will be this evening, Oct. 5. They will meet a tough Melba team who holds a 2-0 record in league play, after defeating a fighting McCall squad by a final 12-6 tally. Adrian Coach Bob Batessays it appears that the Thursday evening game will be a tough one, with the .Antelopes holding a 3-1 season record, against Melba’s 3-2.
