KRAZY DAYS SECTION—JOURNAL (THE GATE CITY)
My Neighbors
The golfer stepped up to the
tee and drove off.
The lull
sailed down the fairway, leaped
onto the green and rolled into
club in the air with excitement.
•What have you suddenly gone
craiy about?’ asked his wife,
who was trying learn some­
thing about the game.
-I
‘Why , I just did a hole in
one,’ yelled the golfer, a wild
gleam of delight in his eyes.
‘Did you” asked his wife
placidly.
‘Do it again, dear,
I didn’t see you.’

A man full of excitement
phoned the fire department:
‘Fire! Fire!’
'Where is it.”
‘My house!’
*1 mean the location of the
fire.’
My kitchen!*
'Yes, Nit how can we get to
your place "
‘You’ve got a fire engine,
haven’t you ”

Plastic surgeons can do al­
most anything to the nose ex­
cept keep it out of other people's
business.
I he fellow was a regular
customer at the restaurant and
the management tried to please
him.
So when tie complained
that only one piece of bread was
served with his meal, Ihe wall-
er brought four slices the next
evening.
’Hetterl’ said th«* man, ’but
not enough.
I like bread.’
The next evening the wait­
er brought a full dozen pieces.
■ Hotter yet,’ said the man,
‘but why skimp? I like lots of
bread.’
A basketful of slices the next
day failed to stop tlx* comp­
laints.

•We’ll fix him,’ the manager
told Hie waiter, and ordered a
gigantic loaf specially baked--
six feet long and thick as a
barrel. When the man came in
fyi dinner the waltei lugged m
the huge loaf, uncut, dropped it
on the (able, and waited hope­
fully for comment.
The customer glared at the
loaf, then said in bitter, re­
signed tones. ‘Well! I set* we’re
back to one piece again!’

a survey conducted by a psy-
etiology class at a large un­
iversitv:
If you live Io be 70 or over,
chances are that you will spend
at least 20 years asleep. Two
hours of year life will be taken
signing the pay check* for the
20 solid years of work you will
do
bowling, hiking, or
dominoes will probably take up
some of the seven years you will
allow for sports of all kinds.
For five years you will shave,
and dress, and five months will
tie spent in tying your shoes.
For seven years you will go to
movies, theatre, fights or oilier
amusements. Another year will
be spent on the telephone. For
two and one-half years you will
sit at a table eating, and for an-

you will smoke or chew gum.
The 70 year span includes three
years of waiting and 30 years
annually looking into mirrors
and, just for (tie record, you are
allowed four hours each year
for wiping your nose.
