STANLEY GROVES St. Bridget’s Catholic church in Nyssa was scene ofaJuly29, 1967 ceremony, when wedding vows were exchanged by Miss Mary Jo VanZelf and Stanley Groves. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. William VanZelf of Nyssa, Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Grovers of Fruitland. Before an altar graced with white baskets of gladiolas trimmed with yellow bows, and white candelabras with yellow candles, the double ring rites were performed by the Rev. John Baumgartner of Blessed Sacrament church in Ontario, in the presence of 100 guests. Organist was Miss Vicki Pet erson of Nyssa, with Brian Hirai as altar boy. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, and was attired in scalloped chantilly lace redingote flowing into a long tram over her imported rayon organza floor-length gown. The dress was trimmed In pearls and sequins and ac cented with a bow at the crescent waist line. The bouffant veil of net was secured by a head piece of pearls and sequins matching (lie accents on the gown. The bride carried a bouquet of yellow spider mums with white stephanotis. Attending as maid of honor was Miss Kay Johnson of On tario. She was wearing a floor length yellow crystal over satin trimmed in white lace. Miss Johnson carried a bouquet of white carnations and yellow roses. Miss Tone Wahlert of Spokane and Mrs. LeVaughn Chandoinof Mt. Angel attended as brides maids. They were attired in floor-length gowns of yellow satin, trimmed with white lace. The bridesmaids carried white carnations and roses. Flower girl was Miss Bar bara Hauth, niece of the bride. She wore a yellow nylon over taffeta. Ring bearer was Wil liam Hauth, nephew of the bride. Garry Groves, brother of the bridegroom from Lodi, Calif., attended as best man. Ushers were William Rizor of Union, Ore., David Ashworth of Port land. The bride's mother was at tired in an apple green crepe dress with white accessories. Mother of the bridegroom wore a coral knit suit with white accessories. Each wore a cor sage of Banda Orchids. The three tier cake separated by colonades and topped with white doves, was centered on a hand crocheted lace tablecloth, a gift to the bridal couple by her mother. The cake was cut by Mrs. Roy Hirai. A reception luncheon was held at the Parish hall with women of the Altar Society in charge. Tables were decorated with yellow and white gladiolas. Miss Darlene Orm was in charge of the guest book. Those attending th* gift table were Miss Jo Anne Graham of Fruit land, Miss Patricia Clausen of Mil ton Freewater and Miss Janet Tsukamaki ot Ontario. The new bride is a graduate of Nyssa high school and East ern Oregon college. She plans to teach in Boise. The bridegroom graduated from FruitJand high school and now attends Boise college. For their tour of Idaho the bride wore a light blue en semble. The newlyweds plan to reside in Boise.
