FCIC Applications Hanks and other lending agen cies in 75 counties in the United States will be writing federal crop insurance applications during the next three years for their farm borrowers. J. Ford Anderson, district director for the Corporation, states this experiment has been started by the corporation in tt*s continuing search for more practical and economical ways to expand it’s service to far mers. If the results justify, this plan will be expanded to more counties and more lending agen cies. Anderson further states that success of this orogram is ex pected since many lenders are already making use of the col lateral assignment feature of the federal crop insurance policy to protect farm loans. An insured borrower can assign any indemnity due under his policy as loan collateral. In the event of a crop loss, the indemnity check is paid jointly to the insured and the lender.
