While there they viewed the fireworks and saw the sky divers land in the park. Airman Lowtrip was an over night guest Thursday and Friday of a sister, Bonnie Connell and family. The Gabe Astorecas and Low- trip were Saturday night dinner guests of the Wayne Robbs. Bonnie Connell and Edward Lowtrip attended July 1 and 9 the Vale rodeo. They visited an uncle, Eugene Lowtrip in Crane and dined in Burns. Mr. and Mrs. James Bare- more of Wallowa spent the Fourth of July holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mitchell and Myrtle Hillis her grandmother. The hottest weather they encountered was when they returned to Nyssa. Olsens Tour Mexico Dr. and Mrs. John Olsen and Jack returned July 4 from a five-week trip to Mexico. The Olsens left June 1 and drove through Nozales and fol lowed the west coast. They •topped four days Ln Mazatlan, went on to Guadalajara and spent four days there and toured the sights in that area. The Nyssa family drove to Mexico City where they stayed for five days. They toured the city, saw the pyraminds and visited glass, leather and gold factories. The Nyssans went to a bullfight, saw the Folk- Iorio Ballet at the palace of fine arts and toured the palace of Maxlmlllon and Carlotta. The Olsens continued their trip and traveled north to the central high plateaus of Mexico. At some points they were at 11,000 feet elevations. They also stopped at Juarez, Mexico. Long recently completed nine weeks of electronics training in San Diego, and is now stationed on Treasure Island near Sacra mento. While on the island, he will spend four months attending radar school. Miss Linda R. Morrison was named to Pacific Lutheran un iversity’s dean’s list for out standing academic achievement during the 1M7 spring semes ter, according to a PLU news release.
