THE NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL, NYSSA,OREGON THURSDAY, JUNE I, 1967 In Appreciation By Mrs. Waldo Smalley APPLE VALLEY—Mr. and Mrs, Earl Boston returned home Monday afternoon after a ten-day trip to the coast. They visited with their daugh ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bolton and sons at Hunt ington Beach, Calif, and with Mrs. Gene Boston and sons at Phoenix, Ariz. They returned via Flagstaff, Glen Canyon dam and Salt lake ( ity. The Earl Bostons entertained with a recent barbecue dinner for Nancy Shippy’s first birth day anniversary. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shippy and Danny of Weiser, Mr. and Mrs. John Boston and family were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shippy and family of Weiser, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bston were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Boston. Mr. and Mrs. Keith langley and Tod visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Irwlght Seward. Mrs. Kenneth Saunders was admitted to Malheur Memorial hospital Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Schultz were Sunday afternoon visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Streck of New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rookstoo) were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Shoe maker at Nampa. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fritts visited Sunday afternoon tn the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rbbert Dennis Leavitt, son of and Mrs. Orson l/*avitt was Crosswhite and with Mrs. Julia offered a number of scholar McDonald at the Progressive ships for summer study. Dennis graduated in 1961 from Nyssa High school, and was recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science award scholarship. He is a member of the Physics and scholastic honor socities. He graduated from Oregon State university inCorvallis and also served a two-year mission for the LDS church. Dennis maintained a 3.69 grade point average for the school term. He was married August 1966 to Veda Williams, who earned tier Bachelors de gree in Business Administra- ' tlon, and taught in The Dalles, Oregon High school. The Ueavitt couple plans to spend a few days in the Orson Leavitt home. They will also visit the Gordon Leavitts in Ida ho Falls, Yellowstone Park, Black Hills and Minnesota. Airman 3/c John F.
