Homer Brewer announce the arrival of a new grand daughter, born Sunday, April 9, 1967 to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Adams in Oakland, Calif. The infant weighed eight pounds, six-ounces, and has been named Sherri Lynn. Her mother is the former Barbara Brewer. Mr. and Mrs. Elver Nielsen also haw a new granddaughter, born Saturday, April 8, 1967 to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nielsen of Pendleton. The tiny girl Ims been named Lisa Kaye and weighed in at seven-pounds, six-ounces. Mrs. Nielsen left Sunday to spend several days with her son’s family. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Price, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Price went to Grangeville Saturday to spend the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Carey and family. Dinner guests last Thursday in the E. J. Hobson home were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sauer of Nampa. The Elver Nielsens visited Saturday with his mother, Mrs. Effie Nielsen in Nu Acres and with the Clifford Nielsens at Ontario. Saturday evening din ner guests in the Nielsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Niel sen and children of Homedale. Owyhee garden club meeting will be held Friday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Orville Groves at Parma. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holub were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ward, Mrs. Hazel Chamber- lain was also a guest. A district garden club meet ing will be held April 18 at the Ontario Methodist church. The session will begin at 10 a.m., with a no-host dinner at noon. Mrs. Frone Stradley visited several days last week with the Ora Newgens. Lester Heddan of Ontario vis ited Saturday evening with the Ken Lorensens. The Lorensens visited that afternoon with Mrs. William Turner. Sunday visit ors in the Turner home were Mis. Alice Neiger and her mother of Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robb and family of Moses l.ake, Wash,, spent last week visiting his father, Hudson and Mrs. Robb in Nyssa, The Bill Hamilton family In Ontario andthe Wayne Robb family. They also visited with the James Langleys and Elver Nielsens. They were Fri day evening dinner guests in the Wayne Robb home and re turned to their home Sunday. Mmes. Frank Holub, Fred Aral and Gabe Astoreca heard a recent lecture by Howard Irwin in the Ontario highschool auditorium. Mmes. Dean Montgomery, and Gabe Astoreca were among mothers who accompanied a group of Adrian fourth graders on a field trip Friday to Em mett where they toured the Boise Cascade lumber mill. She had re cently underwent surgery at Mercy hospital. It is reported that she is in critical condition at this time. Mrs. Elizabeth Baxter ac companied her grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Heap of Boise to Madras for the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Len Dykstra of Ontario were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike McKague. By Mabelle McKague NU ACRES—Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Jorgenson visited in parts of eastern Idaho with friends and relatives during Easter weekend. There was a family get together at Blackfoot with a banquet and trip to Teton Basin. Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Esplin and son Greg were Easter week end visitors in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Betts and daughters, a friend James Oxier of Renton, Wash., were recent guests in the Omar Betts home. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Wilson and daughters were recent din ner guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson. Mrs. Effie Nielsen received news Friday of the birth of a new great granddaughter to her ARCADIA WOMEN TO MEET grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nielsen at Pendleton, Ore. Idaho Group Returns From Oregon Visit By Mrs. Waldo Smalley APPLE VALLEY—Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shippy and family returned April 4 from Spring field, Ore. While there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Harris and family while Mr. and Mrs. Boston went on to Salem where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Caldwell. They stayed overnight with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Boston at Port land, They also attended the funeral services of Earl’s uncle, S. P. Brown at Salem, He was a pioneer of Apple Valley. Mr. and Mrs.CharlesPitman returned last Thursday from a week’s trip to The Dalles, Ore., where they were called by the serious illness of their son-in- law. Dr. Charles Callahan, who tad major surgery in the Salem hospital, it is reported that he is still on the critical list. Mrs. Luella Breneman, a for mer Apple Valley resident now resides at the Presbyterian nursing home In Ontario. She has been making her home In Sheridan, Ore. Her brother- in-law, Glenn Breneman of Sheridan took her to Ontario. G a y 1 e n e Griffin left last Thursday for Richland, Wash., where she will be employed tor the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gilbert of Springfield, Ore,, visited last Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rookstool. Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Hendricks of Broken Bow, Nebr., were recent guests of the Rookstools. Mrs. Marie Christensen of Madras, Ore., left last Thursday for her home after a three-day visit with her brother, the Roy Rook stools. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston took Mrs. Jennie Boston and Susan of Ontario, and Mrs. Robert Boston of Shelley, Ida., to dinner Sunday at the Two Boys Inn at Ontario. CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY MOVE TO HALFWAY Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Knox are moving this week to Half way, from their home on Route 2, Parma. For about three years prior to their move into Idaho, they had lived near Mitchell Butte, having come to that area from Summerville, near La Grande. The Knox couple’s address, after this week, will be Star Route, Half way, Ore. 97834. Mr. and Mrs. William Peutz and children and Mrs. Eliza beth Peutz went to Payette for dinner Sunday, when they helped an aunt, Mrs. Amanda Peutz, celebrate their birthday anni versary. Mr. and Mrs. John Carr of Mountain Home, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Schaffer of Hermiston were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Bullard. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Woods of Burley and their daughter, Mrs. Virginia Hauck and son of Byden Spent April 2 with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carroll. They were enroute to Spokane to attend the wedding of their son. Woods is a brother of Mrs. Carroll. Mrs. George Hust and Miss Karen Hust visited Saturday with Mrs. Bust’s grandmother, Mrs. Minnie White at Boise. Later Karen left by plane for San Francisco where she is em ployed. She had spent the week here with her j irents, Mr. and Mrs, Geo'g- ’.ast. Mrs. Fivd Norman and sons, and George Moeller visited Sun day evening in the Dick Corn home.
