Kingman Kolony Church Group Begins World Service Drive Seventh-Day Adventists of the Parma area began their annual world service appeal Monday in ' Nyssa. Volunteers from the local congregation will continue to visit business firms during the next three weeks. Solicited funds will be used to extend medical, welfare and edu cational services to 189 countries throughout the world, including the United States. On a world-wide basis last year, the church aided over 10 million persons, distributed nearly 11 mil lion articles of clothing, donated 11 million volunteer hours and contributed $12 million in cash and food, according to infor mation furnished by Ethel M. 1 Doersch. She also reports that the church operates 128 hospitals and 146 clinics, treating nearly four mil lion persons annually. LDS Quarterly Conference Dated Nov. 26-27 at Nyssa Stake Center * Elder Theodore M. Burton, an assistant to the Council of Twelve Apostles, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, will speak at the Nyssa stake quarter ly conference Saturday and Sun day, Nov. 26-27 in Nyssa. The speaker was professor of chemistry at Utah State univer sity for several years prior to 1960 when he was called to serve as one of the general authorities. He spent many years in Europe as a missionary and as U. S. gov ernment official in Germany and Austria. Other conference visitors will be Elder Henry A. Smith of the Priesthood Missionary committee and Mrs. Eileen R. Dunyon of the Primary association.
