They drove to Pendleton where they visited a son, the Gary Nielsen family and met friends, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Burnett, who left with them Sunday morning for Seattle. They visited the Space Needle, rode the Monorail and on Mon day morning left for British Co lumbia. They toured Vancouver and remained there that night and the following day. Tuesday night they boarded the Northerland Prince, a passenger freighter. They were on the boat three nights and two days, em barked at Prince Rupert with their car, drove to Prince George and to other Canadian points. See Isolated Villages There were 57 passengers aboard the boat as they sailed the inland passage to Prince Rupert. They report seeing many small villages along the route which could be reached only by boat or plane. The travelers went to Kamloopf and on to the head of Adams river where they watched the salmon run. It is said to be the largest in the world and the Nielsens say the river looked as red as blood where the red salmon were so numerous. The foursome returned to the states near Penticton and then traveled on to Pendleton where the Nielsens were dinner guests of her sister, the Doyn Price fam ily, and overnight guests of the Gary Nielsens. Enroute home they stopped at Haines where they toured the museum. Mrs. Nielsen’s parents, the Ewen Chards, stayed at the Nielsen home and did the chores during the couple's absence. Julie and Gwen Robb attended an Adrian junior high school Hal loween party Saturday evening in the Gerrit Timmerman barn. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holub were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Teague and daugh ters.
