OREGON PAGE EIGHT Rams Average $75 At Annual Sale Sale price average for 200 rams sold Saturday at the county fair grounds in Ontario was $74.23 with the top price being $285 for an individual. The prize ram was consigned bv Buck Howland and son of Cambridge and purchased by Tom Burton of the same town. Aver age price was somewhat lower than last year, due to the drouth, according to Harry Sandquist, Malheur county agent. Average price for Suffolks was $71.77; for Suffolk - Hampshire crossbreds, $90; for Columbias. $90 50: and for Panamas, $71.50. Two hundred and thirty rams were consigned by 15 breeders from Oregon. ELECTRICITY NOW IS FLOWING over the newest addition to Idaho Power company's complex of 230.000-volt "backbone" trans mission lines — thanks to the technical know-how and surefooted agility of construction men like those shown in this dramatic view. The new line, built at a cost of $3.5 million, extends 106 miles across mountains and desert between Boise and the company's Midpoint substation northeast of Jerome. These men. members of Idaho Power's mobile construction crews, are performing one of the final phases of work required to prepare the facility for ser vice. Toiling with careful skill far above the ground, they are in stalling insulators on a steel tower standing more than 150 feet high. The new heavy-duty line provides an additional means of delivering electricity from the utility's Hells Canyon development to Magic Valley and eastern Idaho areas of its system. Consisting of more than 700 steel and wood towers, the facility is the third Idaho Power line to be equipped with "bundled." or paired, con ductors capable of delivering 40 percent more electricity than con ventional conductors.
