Bowlers comprising the Parma Seed team are Naomi Fritts, Bon nie Nichols, Helen Otani and Ad die Vinsonhaler. Ì I RUMMAGE SALE SCHEDULED SATURDAY BY BETHEL 33 Job’s Daughters of Bethel 33 are sponsoring a rummage sale to be held Saturday, May 14, in the Towne building located at 218 Main street. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until late afternoon. The girls have numerous items of clothing for sale as well as some household articles. Miss Sheila Huffman, senior princess, is in charge of the project. £ , i À ■ PAGE THREE Women Bowlers Plan Banquet for Saturday Th» Woman's City Bowling association banquet is slated for 7:30 Saturday evening. May 14, in the school cafetorium. it is announced by Billie Wright, as sociation president. A family- style dinner is planned with ham and turkey as the main meat dishes. Miss Wright also reports that a meeting of the executive board will be held at 8 o'clock this evening (Thursday) in Brownie's cafe. During a recent contest at the Sugar Bowl. Vera McCrady emerged as scratch bowler and Dee Siam rolled the high han dicap series for the month of April. Both women will re ceive trophies from the pro prietors of the bowling estab lishment at the Saturday night dinner. On the right is Bob Toomb with two trophies. One was given, to gether with $20 cash, for a 1950 handicap score in all-events. The other award was won in doubles competition with Thoron Wheeler who was at the banquet, but did not remain for the picture-taking session. The two keglers rolled a combined 1365 handicap series, and in addition to their trophies received $20 each__ Staff Photo. Team members are Lucille Ber tram, Reid Saito and Gary Ross. NYSSAN VISITS DAUGHTER ON TRIP TO CHICAGO AREA Nyssa School Superintendent W 1.. McPartland recently at tended the 20th annual confer ence of presidents and executive secretaries of the State Associa tion of School Administrators in Chicago. He was one of two Ore gon representatives. While in the "Windy city,” Me. I Partland visited Clyde Swisher, | NHS instructor who is attending the University of Chicago on a John Hay fellowship. The Nyssa superintendent stated that he called on Swisher at his residence. International House, and also met other students who arc studying on the grant. McPartland then went to De troit to see his daughter, Barbara, who graduated April 30 ns top student in the field of social work | at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She was elected to Phi Kappa Phi, an honorary society for which students must be in the top five percent of their class in order to qualify. She plans to spend the summer working in a camp for under-privileged chil dren in Detroit.
