OREGON PAGE EIGHT Past Presidents Group Elects New Officers At Luncheon Meeting Ten members of the Past Presi dents of the American Legion auxiliary went to Ontario Mon day. May 2, for their annual lun cheon meeting which was held at Moore hotel this year. Officers for the coming year include Mrs. Otis Smith, presi- dent; and Mrs Herman Towne, secretary-treasurer. It was reported that the or ganization had sent 168 paper flowers to Portland for the annual wheelchair parade at the Vet erans’ hospital. This was the final meeting of the group until fall. The bride-elect was graduated in 1960 from Saugerties Central school in New York and in 1964 received a bachelor of science de gree in education at the State University of New York college in Plattsburgh. She is now a registered nurse at Multnomah county hospital in Portland. Her fiance was graduated from Nyssa high school, served for some time in the U. S. Army and is now a senior math major at College of Idaho in Caldwell. A Dec. 3, 1966, wedding in Wat erford is being planned by the betrothed couple. Visiting Group Fetes Auxiliary Board Holds Nyssan Angie Cook Last Spring Session; At Rebekah Meeting Style Show Discussed Members of the Ladies' Auxil iary Patriarchs Militant IOOF of . Weiser attended the April 24 meeting of Yellow Rose Rebekah lodge. During the session, the visiting group honored Mrs. An gie Cook, who is also a member of the organization. During th«* regular business meeting, local delegates were named to attend sessions of the Grand lodge to b«* held May 17-19 at Baker. Beulah Gann and Leo na R«*eves were named first and second delegates, while Rose | Toombs and Louise Wernick were I selected as first and second alter nates. Guests attending the Tuesday evening session were Hazel Mo- gensen, Betty Sinkbeil, Edna Stephenson, Pauline Howerton, Evelyn James, Thelma B«*dford, all of Payette; Rhoma Hansberry, Margaret Quick.
