OREGON Antelopes Score 6-2 Raker Team Wins Third Consecutive Win Over Notus; Lose Crown at Nyssa Invitational Meet | 1-0 to Marsing Nine The Baker Bulldogs rolled up their third straight Nvssa invitational track crown last Saturday with 544 points. Oth er teams finishing in order were Emmett with 24 points; Nyssa, 23; Weiser, 214; Vale, 204; Ontario 154; Payette, 15; and Vallivue, 13. The eight team field broke eight records and tied two •others. He also won the discus event with a throw of 140 feet. 10 inches. Mike Jeffries of Baker stepped off the 120 high hurdles in 15 6. breaking the record of 16.1 set by Chase of Baker in 1965. Jeffries later came back to win the 180- yard low hurdle event in 20.4, shattering the previous record of 21 0 set by Derrick of Baker in 1965. Kerby's Record Broken Don Cox of Emmett won the pole vault event with a record AHS Girls Capture breaking 12-foot, 1-inch vault. Previous high in this event was First Place Honors 12 feet set by Meyer of Ontario In Nyssa Track Meet in 1965. The Bulldogs of Nyssa high shut out the Black Knights from Bishop Kelly by a 7-0 final tally last Friday afternoon on the Idaho diamond. The Knights had as many hits as the Bulldogs but could not keep up in scoring runs. Danny Wilson went the distance for Nyssa, picking up the win. his second of the season. The Vallivue Falcons invaded Nyssa Tuesday afternoon and de- feated the Bulldogs 6-2. Nvssa’s record now stands at three wins, four losses. The Bulldogs will host the Emmett Huskies Friday after noon and will travel to Vale next Tuesday. Adrian hosted the Notus nine last Friday afternoon when Bill Skogan pitch ed a two hitter, striking out se\en batters. The victory was Skogan’s third in as many starts. Tim Tailman and Danny Cutler each contributed two hits to the Antelopes’ six-hit attack. Adnan traveled to Marsing on Tuesday afternoon for a game which proved to be very’ close. Skogan allowed only two hits, walked five and struck out six batters to take the loss. The only run of the bailgame was by Jack Bicandi, who blasted a triple and scored on an error by the Adrian catcher. I ADMISSION — 90c. 65c and 25c 'Poodle Pups' Defeat 'Hot Shots' 14-13 In Third Annual Powder Puff Contest With the final basket tossed through the hoop by Coach Pete Smit, the Nyssa Poodle Pups scored a 14-13 victory over the "Hooser Hot Shots” Friday eve ning in the thud annual Powder Puff game sponsored by the NHS Girls' Athletic association. Sporting the colors of black and blue and coached by Kinsey Keveren, the Hot Shots led dur ing the entire contest. All scoring seemed to be legal as Referee Gene Chester even got into the act by tossing one in for the Hot Shots. Rules were adjusted to fit the situation as fouls often resulted in as many as five chances at the foul line. Teams Have Moral Support Neither team was without en couragement as Bud Sappc and Don Breshears, in proper attire, urged the Hot Shots to greater scoring. Cheering the Poodle AHS JUNIORS.
