April 1. for the Bulldogs’ first track meet of the year. The Wolverines placed first with 79 points; Nyssa secured second with 51 and the Knight of Boise took tjprd with 49 points. The Bulldogs managed wetones in only three events, with Steve Petrie taking two of the three. He placed first m the ♦shot put with a toss of 53 feet. 5 inches and first in the discus with a throw of 141 feet. In the 880-yard relay the Bulldog team comprised of Talbot. Jef feries. Savage and Oft placed first with a time of 1:40.5. Bulldogs Defeat Wolverines 10-3; Lose 9-0 to Pirates Other results are as follows: 120-vard high hurdles — Beyer , (W). Holmes CK). 2:05. i The N H S Bulldogs defeated Weiser 10-3 and bowed to the Payette Pirates 9-0 in diamond contests during the past week. Nyssa traveled to Weiser last Friday afternoon for the first conference game of the season. The Wolverines scored three runs in the first two innings and held the Bulldogs scoreless until the fifth stanza when Ralph Estrada started a rally with a base hit and later scored on a wild pitch In the same inning. Dan Wil son connected for a base hit. scoring two more runs and tying up the ball game. The Bulldogs added four more runs in the sixth, tallied three additional scores in the final per iod and held the Wolverines scoreless. Brad Burningham took over pitching duties for Gary Mason in the second inning with the bases loaded, two men out and the score 2-0 in favor of Weiser. Brad walked the first batter; from then on he pitched a one-hit, shut-out ball game. Ralph Leavitt led the Bulldog batting with two hits for three times at the plate. The Nyssa boys earned 10 runs on eight hits and one error, com pared to three runs on four hits and six errors for Weiser. Blanked by Payette The Bulldogs suffered a 9-0 de feat at the hands of the Payette Pirates Tuesday afternoon on the Idaho diamond. Payette’s ace pitcher. Warren Meador, fanned 12 Nyssa hitters and walked two men during the contest. Meador aided his own cause with a home run; however, his teammates gained only five hits off two Bulldog pitchers. Nyssa's league record now stands at 1-1.
