Rumsey Nyssa Chapel Rites Services Conducted To Be Held Today At Vale LDS Church For Kenneth Parker Final rites for Clifford Merle t Board Responsible For Hall Functions In Nu Acres Vicinity A meeting of Nu Acres resi dents was held Feb 28 at the community hall for the purpose of electing a board of six mem bers to take over responsibilities of the building. Those elected are Mrs. Jack (Jean) Burton. Mrs. Gary (Carol) Betts, Cecil Evans. Buel Clement, Delbert Wilson and Robert Shaw Jr Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Shaw Jr. will serve as secretary-treas- urer. It will be the duty of this board to set a price for renting the hall for public and private activities, and to arrange for fund-raising projects. Money from these projects and rentals will be used for main- tenance and repairs to the build- ing, as well as improvements to the grounds. Area residents interested in renting the hall are asked to con tact Mis. Robert Shaw Jr. by dialing Nu Acres 674-2075. Her mailing address is route 2. Parma. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brewer returned home last Thursday af ter spending several days in Port land. Friday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Culbertson were Mrs. Buster Talbot of Westfall. Mrs. Earl Kygar and Marlene Slippy. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cul bertson and family were Sunday visitors in the parental home. Larry returned home March 2 af ter being hospitalized for some time. Hear From Son at South Pole Mr. and Mrs. James Stephen recently received a letter from their son. Ronald, at the South Pole, stating that this will be the last correspondence they will re ceive until November as the Pole station will be frozen in until that time. Mr. and Mrs Earl Scholl of Ta coma were weekend visitors in the Melvin Crocker home. Other recent guests in the Crocker resi dence were Mrs. Wes Walker Sr.. Keith Tallman of Homedale and Gayle Martin. The Rev. and Mrs. Leo Berg thold were Sunday dinner guests in the Arthur Skogan home. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wenke were Sunday visitors in the Vernon McCain residence. Mr. and Mrs. M. I. Roberts of Tekoa. Wash., were weekend guests in the home of her brother- in-law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Dimmick. The Roberts couple was enroute home after an ex tended visit in Mexico. OKK Club Meeting Slated OKK club meeting will be held March 17 at the home of Mrs. Henrietta Mendazona. Mrs. Ida Walters will assist as co-hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Neal and Nancy of Boise were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Dimmick. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Day were weekend guests of their son-in- law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and family at Poca tello. A meeting of 4-H Junior Lead ers and Empire Builders was held March 3 at the Donald Brewer home. OREGON Funeral services for Kenneth Parker, a lifetime resident of this area, will lx* conducted at 2 o’ clock this afternoon, March 10, 1906. at Lienkaemper chapel Of ficiating will be the Rev. Arthur Skogan of Owyhee Community church. Following an extended illness, Mr. Parker succumbed Tuesday at Malheur Memorial hospital whetv he had been a patient for several days. He was born Sept. 28. 1913. in the Big Bend community, a son of Ernest and Myrtle Mae Watson Parker and for a number of years managed operations on the J. C. Watson farm between Adrian and Nyssa. In addition to his mother of Adnan. Mr. Parker is survived by one son. Kenneth Jeffery Par ker of Nyssa; and two daughters. Mrs Linda Strong and Mrs. Clau dia Derrick, also of Nyssa, Mary Weir Hospitalised Other survivors include two Miss Mary Weir is a patient at brothers. Mr. Rumsey succumbed Mon day in the hospital at Ontario. He was born Nov. 19, 1918. at Lewellen. Neb., and on Dw 23. 1935. was married to Rose Marie McLaughlin at Payette. In addition to his widow of the home, he is survived by three sons. Garland and John of Vale and Robert Rumsey of Nyssa; one , daughter. Mrs. Patsy Shelton of i Bridge. Ore. Other survivors include his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rumsey of Albion, Idaho: one brother. Carl Rumsey of Vale; two sisters, Mmes. Lynn and Jim Orthman of Albion. Nine grandchildren also survive.
