VISITOR FROM MISSOURI Mrs. Carl McKnight of St. Jo- seph. Mo., arrived Monday at the home of her uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Counsil. They were dinner guests of the Chester Counsils at New Plymouth and later drove to Owyhee dam. Eve ning dinner guests in the O. P Counsil home were Mrs. R. C. Smith Jr. and children. The following day. the trio drove to Caldwell where they vis ited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, former schoolmates of Counsil and Mrs. McKnight. The Counsil couple and their guest were Tuesday evening dinner guests in the R. C. Smith Jr. resi dence and later that evening Mrs. McKnight boarded a train to re- turn home. Despite encountering some rain and snow, they report having a pleasant visit with Mr. and Mrs. Van Haueter and were their luncheon guests. They also visit- ed with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Looney. Harlan Sager Among OSU Seniors Chosen For Nuclear Program Harlan Sgger is among five senior naval cadets at Oregon | Stat»« university seli'eteii for train- i mg in th»' Navy's Nuclear Power program, according to an OSU' news release. Th»' ROTV student, son of Mr. and Mrs Raymond Sager of Nys sa. is a senior in the school of science at OSU. Th»' men were select,xl to apply for the special training due to high academic standings in sci ence courses Final selection was announced following recent per sonal interviews with Admiral H G. Kickover in Washington, DC. After graduation and commis sioning in June, the cadets will undergo 18 months of intensive stuiiy and training in nuclear power propulsion plans and sub marine school. They will then be qualified for nuclear submarini* duty. THURSDAY.
