Area Men to Assist At Meeting in Idaho LETTERS To the Editor Charles Dodge, of the Payette congregation of Jehovah’s Wit nesses serving the Nyssa area, has been given a special assignment at the group’s semi-annual circuit convention to be held March 4-6 in the high school building at Jerome. Idaho. Dodge will assist the purchas ing department in charge of sup plying materials and food for the cafeteria which will serve meals to most of the 800 expected dele gates. C. Guest speaker for the series of meetings will be the Rev. Ray mond A. Thompson of the Whit ney Methodist church, Boise The Rev. Thompson was pastor of the Apple Valley church near Nyssa from 1949-51 while a student at the College of Idaho. He has served churches also in Colorado and at Weiser. Fruitland and Ru pert. Pastor From Nampa Slated as Speaker At Church Banquet Sydney Carnes will lx* guest speaker for the Nyssa Christian church banquet which will be held at 7 o'clock Monday evening. March 7, at Brownie’s cafe, it is announced by the Rev. Wallace Prowell. The speaker is pastor of the First Christian church in Nampa, Idaho. Before accepting this pas torate, he was associate minister of the First Christian church in Eugene and director of evange lism for the northwest. It is reported that the Rev. Carnes is a dynamic and forceful speaker, radiating joyousness in serving the Lord. Banquet reservations may be made bv contacting Pastor Prow ell. Adrian Community Church News A potluck dinner for members of Adrian Community church families will be served at 7 p.m. tomorrow evening, March 4 at the church. Members of the women’s Bible study groups met Feb. 23 at the home of Mrs. Elmer Rosenkilde. The younger women met in the morning, with the older group meeting in the afternoon. Mrs. Tina Schiemer was cele brating her birthday anniversary, and members of the afternoon group sang “Happy Birthday” and presented her with a gift. Mrs. Earl Winn was in charge of the lesson. Next meeting of the older wo men will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. March 23, at the home of Mrs. Schiemer. COUPLES DRIVE TO JUNTURA Mr. and Mrs Lester Oden. Following a potluck dinner, the evening was spent in playing games led by Mrs. Clyde Bowers and Mrs. Cecil Houston. Mrs. Marvin Schnabel and Parley Feik won the door prizes. STUDY CARE OF EYES. Kesler, vice president, had charge of the meeting; Mrs. Clyde Bowers acted as secretary. Roll call was answered by giving a Valentine remembrance. Mrs. Clyde Bowers drew the hostess gift. Next meeting will be March 11 at the home of Mrs. Parley Feik. The second Friday in each month is regular meeting date of the club. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wood and three children of Richland, Wash., spent a recent weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Drydale.
