OREGON College Students Arrive to Spend Holidays in Area Extension Group Holds Christinas Party; Plans January 20 Session By Emily Myers OWYHEE Kenneth Mills, who is attending college in Portland, plans to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Mills. NEWELL HEIGHTS Members of the AKH Extension unit met Dec. 16 for their potluck dinner and gift exchange at the home of Dorothy Fox. Eleanor Topliff was in charge of the ACWW program. The group has been studying Austra- lia. its people and their customs Next meeting will be Jan. 20 at the home of Virginia Timmer- man. The lesson will be "A Will of Your Own." Mary Laan and the hostess will serve as project leaders. By Mr». DECEMBER 23. 1965 Mr. anû Mrs. Neil Dimmick were Sunday callers in the Ted Pomeroy home at Middleton. The Dimmicks and Mrs. Roy Holmes went to Unity Friday to cut Christmas trees. Enters Boise Hospital Mrs. William Peutz entered St Alphonsus hospital in Boise on Dec. 12 and underwent surgery the following Wednesday. She returned Saturday to her home and is reported to be recovering satisfactorily. Mrs. Dick Bones and girls were Tuesday visitors in the Melvin Crocker residence. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mills and children of Adrian were Sunday dinner guests of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Mills. After noon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Batt of Nyssa. Mills and Mrs. Batt drove to Caldwell to visit their mother. Mrs. C. R. Mills, who is in a nursing home and has been quite ill. Culbertsons Have Grandson Mr. and Mrs. Charley Culbert son announce the arrival of a new grandson. Lonnie Dean, born Dec. 16 in Boise to their son and daughter - in - law. Mr and Mrs. Larry Culbertson. The latter, in fant son and Teresa are spending this week in the Culbertson home. Donald Hite and Russell of Worden. Wash., were weekend guests of his mother, Mrs. Jack Elliot. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and children of Pocatello were Friday and Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Day. The Wilsons were enroute to Moses Lake. Wash. Hosts Slumber Party Miss Kathy Strickland enter tained Friday night with a slum ber party for nine guests. Mr. and Mrs. John Strickland attended a recent Christmas par ty for the Loyalty class of the Christian church at the Hud Robb home. Saturday overnight guests in the Strickland residence were their grandchildren, Teresa Sow- ard, Scott and Brad Holcomb. Leslie Topliff and Duncan Winn were Sunday dinner guests in the Irvin Topliff home Students Arrive for Holidays Gene Worden, a student at Oregon State university in Cor vallis, arrived home Dec. 15 to spend the holidays with his mo ther, Mrs. Frankie Worden. Mi chael and Eugene Pratt, who also attend OSU, are spending the holidays with their parents. Mr. and Mrs Alfred Simpson and family visited last Thursday evening with the Duane Fenn family in Vale. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kurtz visit ed Saturday with her aunt, Mrs. Ida Collins at the Presbyterian nursing home in Ontario. Mr. and Mrs Jake Borge went to La Grande last Thursday to get their daughter. Marie, and her roommate. Glenda Hoffman. The girls are spending the holidays with their parents, the Borge couple and Glenn Hoffmans. Meet in Siam Residence Happy Dozen card group met Friday afternoon at the home of Minnie Stam for their Christmas party and gift exchange. Guest players were Betty Phifer and Lydia Worden. Prize winners were Mabel Piercy. Marge Loo ney, Goldie Roberts and Thelma Hammon. Next t session will be Jan. 7 at the 1 home of Bernice Toomb. Mr. and Russell McKinley of Boise Sunday evening guests for a Swiss Sondue supper in the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. McKinley. The meal was prepared from a recipe book brought back from Switzer land this summer by the latter couple’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James McKinley. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Witt went to Boise Friday when the latter consulted with her doctor. In the afternoon they visited in the Marion Wolfgang and Bert Domy homes in the capital city. Youngster Suffers Burns Mrs. Alfred Simpson and chil dren visited Sunday afternoon in the David Savage home. Vicki, the five-year-old daughter of the Savage couple, suffered severe burns on her hips and legs last week when she pulled a vaporizer off a table.
