OREGON To the Editor: I am perplexed by the strange reasoning, almost as though they have a suicide complex, which causes the majority of liberals, or moderates as they usually call themselves, to fear and viciously attack a group such as the John Birch society, and at the same time show little or no concern for the danger to all of us from the Communist conspiracy. The John Birch society is a pa triotic organization primarily con cerned with the preservation of our constitutional government. Communism is a self-called re volutionary movement, whose purposes can be achieved only by the forcible overthrow of the extant social order. The Communists, who have al ready seized control of over 40 percent of the world’s population, are actively engaged in trying to bring about the downfall of the countries still free, especially the United States. They have murdered millions of people in the countries they rule and will kill millions more if they attain their goal of a Com munist world and the enslave ment of all mankind. Alaska, will be guest speaker during the Sunday morning wor ship service at Adrian Commu nity church. Mr. and Mrs. Obcndorf and children are enroute to Nigeria when- he will serve as a mission ary accountant. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho and has worked in Anchorage for the past six years. MYF GROUP SCHEDULES NOV, 3 CHILI SUPPER Youth of the Methodist church are sponsoring their annual chili feed to be held from 5 to 9 p.m Wednesday, Nov. 3. in the social hall. Chicken and noodles will also be available for the same cost, if preferred. Proceeds from the project will ’ be used to make improvements in the group’s meeting room at , the the church and for the Meth odist Youth fund pledge. Following this special service, the regular Sunday school class session will be held, the Rev. Bullock said. They returned home with three deer. Club Women Meet Arcadia club meeting was held Oct. 22 at the home of Mrs. Neil Petterson and due to the busy harvest season only five members were present. Next meeting date will be announced later. Mr. and Mrs. Art Richardson and family spent the weekend at the Ernest Stephenson home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schofield of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hendricks of Bums are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Zittercob while pheasant hunting. Mrs. Schofield is Zittercob’s sis ter.
