OREGON PAGE TWELVE Vale Vikings Overpower Nyssa 41-7 To Cancel Bulldogs' Tourney Hopes Vale gained the right to journey to state by defeating the Nyssa Bulldogs 41-7 on the Vikings’ home gridiron Friday, Oct. 15. Nvssa kicked off to the Vale lads and held them, re gaining the ball on their own 20-yard line. Vale’s defense crushed the Bulldogs' offensive drive. \ ale took control of the ball and the Vikings’ quarterback. Nyssa High School Calendar of Events TVCC Chukars Win Homecoming Contest Against SOC Squad The Treasure Valley Communi ty college Chukars won their homecoming game against the Southern Oregon college Jayvees by a 20-12 final score last Friday evening at Ontario high school stadium. The Chukars scored the 20 points in the first half of the con test. then played defensive ball to hold the lead. John Stavros opened the scor ing for TVCC with a 12-yard run in the first quarter and Don Luisi ran the conversion when the pass from center went wide. In the second stanza. Luisi ran 13 yards for the second touch down but the PAT was not com pleted. Also scoring for TVCC in the second quarter was Dave Tash who went six yards into the end zone. Bill Cooper booted the point and the score stood 20-6 at half time. In the final period. SOC tallied six points on an eight-yard aerial from Knight to Fraser. Their first touchdown came early in the first quarter and both conversions were blocked by the Chukars. Stavros ran 54 yards rushing to lead the TVCC club and Jimmy Nol*n .¡itciivpi.d five SOC passes in outstanding defensive play. The Chukars' season record stands at 3-2. They travel to Ya kima Saturday and will meet the Yakima JC ciub that night. Poison Bait Placed By County Trappers The U. S. Fish and Wildlife ser vice in cooperation with Malheur county, the Oregon State Depart ment of Agriculture and the Ore gon State Game commission, is now' placing lethal bait stations in Malheur county for the control of predatory animals for the pro tection of livestock and game. Warning signs are posted at the station and at strategic points within the area. Detailed information may be obtained by contacting Malheur county trapper.
