He succumbed early this week in an Ashton, Idaho, hospi tal after suffering a recent stroke. He had been hospitalized for ap proximately six weeks. Mr. Green was born Jan. 21, 1897, and had resided in Malheur county most of his lifetime. His father worked as a carpenter and also homesteaded about 1910 un der the Owyhee project. This place is presently owned by Tom Drydale. The deceased went to work for John Ward (father of Audrey Ward) at an early age. He later worked for many sheepmen of this period at locations in the Steen and Blue mountains as well as on many ranges in Idaho. Ac cording to his friends, he prob ably knew more range country than any man of late years. A more recent employer of the de-1 ceased was Vaughn Stringer of I Nyssa. When the family was living on j the homestead, Mr. Green had five sisters, Florence, Inez, Fran-. ces, Edna and Goldie. In a recent letter to friends, Frances Atchi son listed a Portland. Ore., ad- j dress and mentioned the two old-! er sisters; however, their where-| a bouts are not known here.
