Mackey ADRIAN Mr, und Mrs. Robert I-ong entertained Inst Thursday ' evening with u picnic dinner in ! honor of her sisters, Mrs. Charles Merritt and Mrs. Jim Raynor of Emmett und her son. Wayne Sparks, on their birthday anni versaries. Other guests were her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bill I.ooney and family, Charles Merritt, Jim Glen non und Jim Raynor. Hilly Looney urrivcd July 14 from Camp Roberts, Calif., where he had been taking reserve train ing the past few weeks. He went to work in Ontario on Friday at the school where he will touch agriculture this year. Mrs. Robert Patterson and chil dren left last Thursday for Abcr- Gcen, Idaho, to visit her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Nut«- Turpin and other relatives. LEE DAIL FAMILY VISITS RELATIVES IN CALIFORNIA Iwc Dail, James, Marla and Da- vid returned recently from a two- week trip to California. The Dails were accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Bertha Motherly of Ontario and Helen Poole They visited a sister, Mrs Phillip Davis at Hun- tington Bench, and with other relatives in that area. Mrs. Motherly spent some time with her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baer at Lakewood. and remained with them while the Dails visited the Floyd Jordan family at Bakers field and the Haskel Danes at Watsonville. Jordan and Dane are former Nyssa pastors. The Dails then went to Gilroy to visit former Nyssan Pauline l-ankford and daughter. Lyna, and with her son nnd daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Iutnkford of Inglewood. They were met at Gilroy by Jack Dail who is serv ing in the Navy and stationed at Treasure Island. The Dane, Dail and Lankford families spent July 4 and 5 at Madonna state park and at Ocean l4ike in the San Juan mountains. Before returning home they also visited Disncylnnd, Marine- land and Knotts Berry farm. En route to Nyssa the family spent some time at Virginia City. Nev., which they report as being one of the most colorful places on their trip. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ixivitt at tended the AII-Star playoff games of the Oregon-Idaho Babe Ruth leugues Sunday afternoon and evening in Payette. Ixivitt is one of the coaches. Mrs. Florence Gowey of Boise arrived last Thursday for a week's visit with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. G E Mackey and family. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Parker of Ontario, Marilyn Parker anil Mrs Mary Hatt were Sunday dinner guests of their purvnts and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Toornb of Nyssa were Sunday evening visitors in the Parker home. Montana Relative« Arrive Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myers and family of Missoula, Mont , arrived July 14 to visit her sister, Mrs. Jean Martin and sons, and to at tend funeral services for her bro ther-in-law, Lennie Martin. Mr. and Mrs. K I. Peterson at tended a picnic for veterans of World War I Sunday afternoon in Ontario. ' Mrs. J. A. Nelson of Nampa visited several days last week , with her brother, Mr. and Mrs Bill Ashcraft. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hamilton and John of Boise and Mrs. Rodnej i Funk of Nampa visited Sundaj evening with Mrs. Hamilton*! 'parents, Mr and Mrs. Bill Ash craft, following the Adrian clasi reunion picnic. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Piercy Mr. nnd Mrs. Bill Ashcraft had dinner nt the Four Seasons cafe in Ontario Wednesday evening July 14. in honor of Mrs. Ash craft’s birthday anniversary. They later visited Mr and Mrs. Herb Thomas at Weiser. Attend Wedding Reception Mr. and Mrs. Claude Day at tended a wedding reception Sun day evening in honor of her bro ther-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Folkman (Roxy Rit chie) in Sunset Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Free!, Mrs. Pauline Mackey and Mervin Pet erson attended an Adrian class reunion banquet Saturday eve ning in Caldwell and the picnic Sunday at the Adrian park. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ward at tended a reunion of the 1940 gra duating class during the weekend in Ontario. Friday evening was for registration, a banquet was held Saturday evening at Moore hotel and a family picnic held Sunday afternoon at Lions park RETURNS FROM UTAH VISIT Mrs. John Richardson of Der- H. E. Chamberlain returned Sunday following a week's visit sha. Ark . and Mrs. John Kelly of with friends and relatives in Og Peoria. III., spent from Wednes day of last week until Sunday at den and Brigham City, Utah the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Willis and attended the wedding of their son and nephew. Judy Steiner attended Sawtooth Presbyterian church camp last week near Ketchum, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gage of Boise visited last Thursday with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Mackey. The Mackeys visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Miller and Ruth at Parma. , Mr. and Mrs Robert Eastman and children of Caldwell visited Sunday evening with her father, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brown. Missouri Rites Held For Joseph T. Brock Joseph T. Brock, 71, succumbed Saturday morning, July 17, 1965, at the home of his only son, Delno Brock of route 1, Nyssa. He wax born Sept. 14, 1893, at Mano, Mo., und when a very young man came with Grant Ald- ridge to the Boise vulley and I m -- gun hauling poles for aome of the first electric highlines. He then returned to Missouri and on Feb. 6, 1914, was married to Cordelia Skelton at Eagle Rock They came west to the Roswell area in 1915 and except for brief intervals resided there and at Em mett until 1942 when they moved to th«- Big Bend community. In 1949 the couple returned to Neosho, Mo., and in 19*14 celebrat ed their golden wedding anniver sary. His wife sure u mired on April 10. 1964, and Mr. Brock re turned last November to reside with his son near Nyssa. In addition to his son, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Easely of Cassville, Mo.; ' two brothers, Fred of Parma, Ida ho, and Sam Brock of Hermiston, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Ray of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Elsie Petty of Cassville. Also surviving are three grand-1 GROUP VISITS RELATIVES. ATTENDS DANCE GATHERING Mr. and Mrs. Neil Petterson, Patty and Toni and Mrs. Petter son's mother, Mrs. C. Ft. Kesler, Sr., left July 14 for Seattle where they visited the latter’s sister, Mrs. A. F. Mladenich and family. .!<• in tin- w.i I niton ' i’y. the Pettersons attended the third Far Western Square and Round Dance convention held in the World’s Fair buildings. They re port that 10,000 square dancers were registered for the three-day event. VISIT IN PENDLETON Mr. and Mrs. Max Dane and Tammy of Phoenix, Ariz., Mr and Mrs. Howard Myrick, Russell and Shelley visited one day last week with the Jerry Myrick family in Pendleton The three families went to Emigrant park for a pic nic dinner.
